YouTube doesn't work on home Internet
Anyone else have this problem and/or could offer any solution?
When using WiFi with t-mobile home internet, YouTube on my phone, tablet, and wife's phone are barely usable. Nearly all videos stop after a few seconds and then the app just tries to buffer the video with the spinning arrow showing. No amount of waiting will restore the video. If i switch the phone to cellular data the video will start again. Related to this, YouTube smart downloads is continuously active. All of this happens only while using T-Mobile 5g home internet, not on our AT&T internet.
This never happens while using cell data connection on the phone (T-Mobile is not our cell carrier). It also doesn't happen with any other streaming device, Roku, computer, etc, or any other streaming service, Disney, prime, etc.
Download speeds are extremely high. That's not the problem.

Just checked, seems okay at the moment. I did plug a second router I had laying around to fix the buffering issue these past few days but just tested out the original tmobile network not too long ago and is working fine now. Use this next time to see if the gateway is the issue https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat

Interesting, thanks. I have the square model KVD21. I should also mention that all the affected devices are using the Android app. I can see the buffer bar load to a specific point and then stop, the video plays to that point, which is usually 10 or 20 seconds, then stops.
I haven't been able to reproduce the effect when using the web browser to play YouTube on these same devices.

I have the old round model so I thought maybe that was the issue. Seems not maybe! I'm also using the Android app on my phone. I wonder if any apple users are reporting the same issue?

Good question. I also noticed the exact same problem on the YouTube Music app. Except the songs don't even start playing.

Is this regular YouTube, or YouTube TV?
Regular YouTube is working fine on my Samsung across my wifi.
Android 11, YT app version 17.07.35

Hmmm... must be something specific to your environment or region. Been working just fine for me.
Though, we are still stuck on their Askey LTE units. They marked us as 5G available on their map over a year ago, but they never sent us the newer modems for it.
Should note they updated the app again. Just manually checked my apps in the play store and it updated YT to version 17.08.34. Looks like it released March 2nd.
Stil loading videos just fine on my Android 11 Samsung Galaxy 21.

no other streaming application has issues

I'm also having the same issue. YouTube, YouTube TV, and Google Play store do not work. Or if they do it's painfully slow. This issue only affects android devices.

I have the exact same problem on iPad. When I switch to our AT&T connection the videos start immediately with no pauses or anything, even though the AT&T connection is much slower than the T-Mobile, but YouTube on the T-Mobile connection is awful - the delays are so long. This just started happening within the last week.
