T-Mobile CellSpot v2 received yesterday. When first connected: Power blinking green, Internet solid green, Status blinking orange After couple hours the CellSpot rebooted itself and changed to: Power blinking green, Internet blinking orange UDP ports 123, 500 and 4500 verified open through Test-NetConnection command, but additionally: Forwarded these ports to CellSpot, rebooted CellSpot, no change in behavior Placed CellSpot in DMZ, rebooted CellSpot, no change in behavior Disconnected everything else from the router, rebooted the router and connected the CellSpot to the router as the only Ethernet device, powered up, again no change in behavior Factory reset the CellSpot, the whole process repeated itself from "When first connected" I am at loss here. Is it possible that the CellSpot they send me is not authorized on T-Mobile core network? Is there a way to get to the Tech Support knowledgeable enoght to check that without waiting an hor on the phone and being transferred 3 times from agent to agent?8.8KViews1like16ComentariosCellSpot personal

Hey, so two days ago I received my tmobile home internet gateway router and it works great with one issue I have not been able to overcome which is I also have the cellspot for expanding coverage in my house as there is hardly any to no signal within the house to use our phones. We have wifi calling and everything enabled and it just didn't work at all, but the cellspot worked great. The issue is the cellspot transmits a tmobile radio signal and my home internet wants to connect to the cellspot because it is the strongest signal it can pick up and obviously that wont work because the cellspot is connected to the home internet gateway router. So is there a way to blacklist or block the home gateway router from using the cellspot signal and to connect to the cell towers instead? With the cellspot off the home internet gateway router works great with awesome speeds, as soon as I plug in the cellspot I get nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated6.2KViews5likes31Comentariosexperience returning cellspot
I'm trying to return a T-Mobile cellspot at the TMO Store @3 Travis Blvd in Fairfield. The website says to just bring in the cell spot tot the store and to not start the return process or they won't accept it. I brought it into the store and they refused to talk to me immediately. I was never had a chance to say anything but point out that their website explained that I couldn't return it to the store if I started the return process. Service has dropped substantially since John Ledger left. The employees here are rude and didn't even try totalk to me about the issue. They just directed me to call customer service. I've been on the phone on wait for over 20 mins. This really isthe worst mobile experience I've ever had.57Visto0likes0ComentariosIs my neighbor's 4G LTE Cellspot degrading my service?
For reference I live in an apartment building which has acceptable T-Mobile service as I'vegone years without any issues living here. A new neighbor hasmoved in recently, and I noticed that I havebeen experiencingworse call qualityand more calls have beendropping. Our building has a very spotty internet provider with high ping and slow upload speeds. A few things lead me to believe that my new neighborshave installed a T-Mobile 4G LTE Cellspot. I'mfamiliar with the Cellspot because my parents live in a rural area and have one in their home.In the past myphone used to display 5G service regularly, nowinstead itdisplays LTE exclusively. When stepping outside about twenty yards away from the building my 5G service returns. I also receive better speeds when running a speed test outside away from my building. Inside of my building I barely reach 40mbs down and usually below5 mbs upload speed which is important for calls and video calls. Speed and the quality of calls has never been an issue before. But only recently becauseof this I'm needingto leave my hometo make calls. It's frustrating because like I said this is a recent issue and I can pin it to something that's making it worse. I use my T-Mobile service to get away from my terrible internetto begin with. I understand that there is no way to connect to the tower directly because the Cellspot is basically a small tower itself and the phone connects there by default. ¿Cuáles son mis opciones?1.2KViews1like8ComentariosCellSpot v2 Tech has never heard of the following "light" sequence
Hello. My CellSpot is not working and seems "stuck," despite a factory reboot. However, when I spoke to a T tech person, she said she never encountered my "light" sequence. Power Light Green, all others dark for 5 seconds All lights turn (including power) Amber, steady, then blinks and turns dark Power Light turn back on Green for 5 seconds All Lights turn (including power) Amber, steady, then blinks and turns dark. The above continued this cycle for 1 hour and 50 minutes. Tech confirmed address and said it should "provision." I'm at a loss. Has anyone encountered this situation?85Visto0likes1ComentarioCellSpot v1 Not Powering On
I've been using a CellSpot (model 9961 Home Cell V1) for a couple years without issue. The other day (5/1/23) I came home from work and noticed I had no cell service. I checked the CellSpot and all lights were off except Power which was solid orange. I checked the cables and everything was plugged in. I noticed the device was quite warm and thought maybe it overheated so I unplugged it and let it cool down. After it was cool, I plugged everything back in and only got the solid orange Power LED. I let it sit overnight, but was in the same state the next morning. Not hot, just orange Power LED. I checked the Tmobile webpage for the CellSpot (https://www.t-mobile.com/support/coverage/4g-lte-cellspot-setup-and-help) and it does not list the solid orange Power LED in the "Light sequences for issues" section. I tried the Reset button on the back, but that also did nothing. I checked the ethernet connection by using the CellSpot cable plugged into my laptop and there is a solid network connection, so it's not an internet/connection issue. It just seems to not be sending power, I guess? Are there any other troubleshooting steps I missed? Is there a better/V2 option I can get?112Visto0likes0ComentariosRidiculous Cellspot setup issues
T-mobile has sent me 3 cell-spots because they can't seem to get their act together to get it setup properly. I work in IT network security, so I am familiar with firewalls and ports/protocols. I've got my cellspot connected to my ATT router, there are no packet filters enabled on the ISP's router. The cellspot is having issues registering with T-mobile. I've spoken to countless number of techs (including advanced). They solutionthus far seems to be to keep swapping out cellspot devices. This has been on-going for over a month or so, it's ridiculous. Keep getting told to wait 72+ hours for the device to register, nothing ever happens. Latest call, tech submitted (again) a ticket and said to wait a few days and will follow up with me. I feel as if they are dealing with a cumbersome piece of technology and that their techs have no clear and defined process to fix the issue. Will see if this latest round of troubleshooting helps, but at this point I'm not holding my breath.202Visto0likes1Comentario- 120Visto0likes1Comentario
How secure is T-mobile's service? Is it encrypted?
How secure is T-mobile's service? Is packet sniffing or a man in the middle attack possible on the T-mobile network? I know that most ISPs have a good idea of what a user does on their network. You can typically just use a VPN to enable more anonymity online. But from the signal between a device and the cell tower i'm guessing there can be multiple security issues. Lets say I login to my T-mobile account or bank account. And someone has set up a repeater or fake signal that my phone connects to thinking its the T-mobile service. Would that person be able to see the data being transferred over the network. Or is the signal my phone sends out encrypted not allowing for this to happen. Devices like the 4G LTE Cellspot connects to a customers own router and allows them to broadcast a T-mobile signal using their home internet. Are people that own this device able to see data and traffic from my phone? They could possible configure their router maliciously to look at all traffic coming from a 4G LTE Cellspot device with unsuspecting T-mobile customer connecting to it thinking its connected directly to a cell tower. Another way this device can be abused is the person can limit their bandwidth to the device to unusable speeds but all phones around it will still connect to it because its the strongest T-mobile signal. This would degrade the service and make the T-mobile service around that device practically unusable. I swear I'm not paranoid. Just a student studying security and these questions came to mind.
