T-Mobile CellSpot v2 received yesterday. When first connected: Power blinking green, Internet solid green, Status blinking orange After couple hours the CellSpot rebooted itself and changed to: Power blinking green, Internet blinking orange UDP ports 123, 500 and 4500 verified open through Test-NetConnection command, but additionally: Forwarded these ports to CellSpot, rebooted CellSpot, no change in behavior Placed CellSpot in DMZ, rebooted CellSpot, no change in behavior Disconnected everything else from the router, rebooted the router and connected the CellSpot to the router as the only Ethernet device, powered up, again no change in behavior Factory reset the CellSpot, the whole process repeated itself from "When first connected" I am at loss here. Is it possible that the CellSpot they send me is not authorized on T-Mobile core network? Is there a way to get to the Tech Support knowledgeable enoght to check that without waiting an hor on the phone and being transferred 3 times from agent to agent?8.5KViews1like16ComentariosTmobile Home Internet with Tmobile Cellspot
Hey, so two days ago I received my tmobile home internet gateway router and it works great with one issue I have not been able to overcome which is I also have the cellspot for expanding coverage in my house as there is hardly any to no signal within the house to use our phones. We have wifi calling and everything enabled and it just didn't work at all, but the cellspot worked great. The issue is the cellspot transmits a tmobile radio signal and my home internet wants to connect to the cellspot because it is the strongest signal it can pick up and obviously that wont work because the cellspot is connected to the home internet gateway router. So is there a way to blacklist or block the home gateway router from using the cellspot signal and to connect to the cell towers instead? With the cellspot off the home internet gateway router works great with awesome speeds, as soon as I plug in the cellspot I get nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated5.8KViews5likes31Comentarios4G LTE Cellspot Issues
I cannot find any information on the error lights that are currently present on my 4G LTE Cellspot. The troubleshoot guide has no option for the following error lights: POWER: solid green INTERNET: solid green STATUS: flashing orange GPS: solid green 3G/4G: solid green 4G LTE: off I have tried rebooting the cellspot twice but I am still receiving the same error lights. Currently only have 1 bar of service and it is very weak. Anyone have any solutions to this problem?Solved4.7KViews0likes4Comentarios5G Gateway & 4G LTE CellSpot
I need to have an email from T-Mobile to get my questions to the person who can actually give the correct answer. I have spoken to a Manager & 4 techs. I now have conflicting answers to my 3 questions. Will the Gateway properly function at our house or not? Obviously, I don't feel comfortable putting that address on this forum. Where is the closest tower to our house. One tech says northeast & one says southwest. The Gateway isgiving us better internet than our previous company, But, not connecting properly to the CellSpot. 4 says when ongoing repairs are done, it should. 1 says no way because of issue #1,3.9KViews0likes4ComentariosCellSpot v2 Update Email - How?
I got an email asking me to update my CellSpot: I have a CellSpot V2 SS2FII Femtocell Multi-Band SOHO, manufactured by Nokia. It is connected to my home internet. The light is blinking green, indicating LTE traffic going through it. If I turn it off, my LTE service vanishes. So I think it's working fine. The link in the email goes here: 4G LTE CellSpot setup & help Which says nothing about updating it. The femtocell version doesn't have a wifi network, so how am I supposed to update it? Thanks in advance.Solved1.1KViews0likes3ComentariosMy cellspot not connecting
Hi, I looked over the internet to see if there was something i was missing. I just upgraded to the v2 as the original cellspot stopped working 6 months ago ( just green power light nothing else) The new one started with green flashing power and amber flashing internet. I had originally setup through my archer ax21 router but after two days switched to plugging directly into the modem. (a tplink tc-7620) and plugging the router into the lan port. Now i have green flashing power and solid amber internet led. I called customer support and that was fruitless. After 20 minutes of telling the person on the phone that she doesnt have a script for my question she checked with her colleagues and told me that xfinity comcast doesn't block customers ports. ( Not entirely true as there are about a dozen ports they do block that started way back with the sasser worm iirc). I have tried various port scanners and the results are mixed but it seems to say that the ports are open but filtered? No explanation of that. I have cycled power a bunch of times and have tried resetting the cellspot a couple of times. Does tmobile have a port testing site that they recommend to see if i need to confront my ISP at a higher level? Gracias1KViews1like2ComentariosIs my neighbor's 4G LTE Cellspot degrading my service?
For reference I live in an apartment building which has acceptable T-Mobile service as I'vegone years without any issues living here. A new neighbor hasmoved in recently, and I noticed that I havebeen experiencingworse call qualityand more calls have beendropping. Our building has a very spotty internet provider with high ping and slow upload speeds. A few things lead me to believe that my new neighborshave installed a T-Mobile 4G LTE Cellspot. I'mfamiliar with the Cellspot because my parents live in a rural area and have one in their home.In the past myphone used to display 5G service regularly, nowinstead itdisplays LTE exclusively. When stepping outside about twenty yards away from the building my 5G service returns. I also receive better speeds when running a speed test outside away from my building. Inside of my building I barely reach 40mbs down and usually below5 mbs upload speed which is important for calls and video calls. Speed and the quality of calls has never been an issue before. But only recently becauseof this I'm needingto leave my hometo make calls. It's frustrating because like I said this is a recent issue and I can pin it to something that's making it worse. I use my T-Mobile service to get away from my terrible internetto begin with. I understand that there is no way to connect to the tower directly because the Cellspot is basically a small tower itself and the phone connects there by default. ¿Cuáles son mis opciones?1KViews1like8ComentariosHow secure is T-mobile's service? Is it encrypted?
How secure is T-mobile's service? Is packet sniffing or a man in the middle attack possible on the T-mobile network? I know that most ISPs have a good idea of what a user does on their network. You can typically just use a VPN to enable more anonymity online. But from the signal between a device and the cell tower i'm guessing there can be multiple security issues. Lets say I login to my T-mobile account or bank account. And someone has set up a repeater or fake signal that my phone connects to thinking its the T-mobile service. Would that person be able to see the data being transferred over the network. Or is the signal my phone sends out encrypted not allowing for this to happen. Devices like the 4G LTE Cellspot connects to a customers own router and allows them to broadcast a T-mobile signal using their home internet. Are people that own this device able to see data and traffic from my phone? They could possible configure their router maliciously to look at all traffic coming from a 4G LTE Cellspot device with unsuspecting T-mobile customer connecting to it thinking its connected directly to a cell tower. Another way this device can be abused is the person can limit their bandwidth to the device to unusable speeds but all phones around it will still connect to it because its the strongest T-mobile signal. This would degrade the service and make the T-mobile service around that device practically unusable. I swear I'm not paranoid. Just a student studying security and these questions came to mind. T-mobile has sent me 3 cell-spots because they can't seem to get their act together to get it setup properly. I work in IT network security, so I am familiar with firewalls and ports/protocols. I've got my cellspot connected to my ATT router, there are no packet filters enabled on the ISP's router. The cellspot is having issues registering with T-mobile. I've spoken to countless number of techs (including advanced). They solutionthus far seems to be to keep swapping out cellspot devices. This has been on-going for over a month or so, it's ridiculous. Keep getting told to wait 72+ hours for the device to register, nothing ever happens. Latest call, tech submitted (again) a ticket and said to wait a few days and will follow up with me. I feel as if they are dealing with a cumbersome piece of technology and that their techs have no clear and defined process to fix the issue. Will see if this latest round of troubleshooting helps, but at this point I'm not holding my breath.140Visto0likes1Comentario4g LTE Cellspot
My cellspot is hissing (fan noise) and won't connect to anything. The power and the Internet are only flashing (green and yellow respectively). All the other lights are off. I have hit the reset button (maybe a little over an hour ago) but no go. Its been like this all weekend. I need the cellspot as I only get 1 bar in the house. Had this device since 2018 and its been flawless until now. Suggestions?129Visto0likes4Comentarios
