internet speed
7 TopicsWhy is the Home Internet Gateway functionality crippled?
I have ArcadyanKVD21, and while I am thoroughly impressed with the speeds from the device on the T-Mobile 5G network, I am disgusted by the lack of any ability to properly manage & (more importantly)secure thisdevice. This trade between speed and security is insulting and offensive to me as a technologically adeptSecurity professional, andexacerbatedby the fact thatT-Mobile continues to fail when tasked with protecting user account PII data. The inability to perform certain key functions completely disappoints me. Below are the primary issues and concerns, which *MUST* be resolved to keep me as a customer: Cannot perform setup /administrativetasks via wired interface. Current (internal)web interface only offers a "basic" informational portal. Cannot completely disable (turn off) WiFi, (likely due to the above). What (few) administrative tasks that are available, requires:download &installation of a worthless"mobile app", which also requires the device be connected to the local WiFi network. Current administrative functions are limited to 3 tasks, changingthe:administrative password, WiFi password, orname of the WiFi SSID. T-Mobile Internet app losesany/allfunctionalitybeyond the local network. If the gateway is connected to the internet, and the device with the app is as well, then there should be no valid reason to require "local" access, especially if the next point is true… As this prevents a parental/guardianauthority from managing the device while travelingoroutside the home (at work). T-Mobile app does not permit multiple instances of the app to be logged in with the same account/credentials. (per T-Mobile technical rep) What absolutely perplexes me is that many (if not all) of these points DID NOT EXIST when I reviewed an earlydevice around one (1)yearago… So why "cripple" the functionality?!?834Visto6likes11ComentariosWhats Going On Lately With The Poor T-Mobile Internet Service???
For the past week to 10 days (Today is 8-24-22) T-Mobile Internet has been a waste of money….I believe they are messing with the tower configurations in my area...I use to get 100Mbps Download speed and now they are only mustering up a piddly 17-20Mbps. When will you guys get things back to normal?? Up until a week or so ago I use to connect to T-Mobile Tower MCC 310, MNC 260, Region 31695, Tower894300, Cell 228940863 at MINIMUM and Consistent Speed of 50-75Mbps Download at a 5G Extended Signal Band 71. NOW I can ONLY connect to T-Mobile Tower MCC 310, MNC 260, Region 31695, Tower 73303, Cell 18765571at MAXIMUMand NON-Consistent Speed of 17-20Mbps Download at a 4GLTESignal Band 2. This goes for ALL MY T-Mobile Devices...Home Internet Gateway AND TWO (2) Cell Phones...Magenta Plan. I signed up for and switch over to T-Mobile about 2 Months ago and now this crud. What The Heck Are You Guys Doing And Why Taking So Long? Is This Permanent? Let's Get It Fixed! Otherwise I am raising cain with billing and not paying for this stuff...Better Business Bureau also gets T-Mobiles attention for all others seeing this same poor service now. I currently have a Nokia gateway through TMobile and me and my son both work from home and have our computers plugged into it. I, however, will be moving my office to the basement, 2 floors down, and with VPN on wireless, the speed drops substantially. Is there a way to have 2 TMobile gateways, 1 just designated to my computer alone, or is there a better way to get us both hooked up to the 1 without a substantial cost and headache? Mind you, my daughter also has her computer and streams on her TV on the 3rd floor, and we now have about 12 devices total utilizing the gateway, 10 on wireless. Thanks for any help!415Visto0likes1ComentarioInternet Speeds Cut by Half
For the first couple days when i got the 5g home wifi i was getting around 470-500 mbps down and around 45-60mbps up but the next morning it dropped to around 180-210 mbps down and 25-35 mbps up. Has this happened to anyone else? Does it depend on how cloudy it is? Im just confused why it was cut in half in less than a day. Been thinking about getting the MIMO antennas to see if i can get my old speed back.341Visto0likes5Comentariosinternet speeds
We're about .3 miles from our serving site at lat/long 38.921950 -91.067779 and our speeds drop drastically after 6 PM sometimes losing connectivity when people get home. Charter has started providing service in the area and we're considering taking it, we'd rather stay with TMO due to the lower price and being retired. I called the help desk to tell them fiber was available right in front of the site but it turned into ticket and going through all the steps of troubleshooting when all I was trying to do was along some info. Hopefully this will get to someone who can see about converting this site from a legacy Sprint microwave site to fiber.99Visto0likes3ComentariosSlow internet even after good network signal in my new apartment
