slow internet
6 TopicsSevere slowdowns and lag after 2am CT
I had noticed that my T Mobile home internet slows down after midnight, then it would disconnect, reconnect and everything was fine. Fast forward to today and my speed drop to 8Mbps download and zero upload. I tried calling customer service and they said to reboot, reboot, and you know, reboot the modem. After a short amount of time with customer support my modem speeds increased to 56.52 download and 9.86 upload. The latency is 275 down and 517 up. Prior to 2am today my speeds were 225.57 down and 8.07 up with a latency of 192 down and 492 up. The support rep on the phone said that 56 down is acceptable but I disagree as I was having 225 down prior to 2am this morning. Is anyone else seeing a significant decrease in speeds and latency after midnight?Solved486Visto0likes12Comentariosslow 5g gateway the last 2 weeks
I was getting 300 to 400 mbps download for my 5g gateway. The last couple weeks it's only been 1-2 during the day and tmobile claimed to be doing site modernization. I called the tech support twice already and they have no solutions for the slow internet. Anyone else can help?143Visto2likes2ComentariosWfi Sucks
My home internet sucks!!! I wish I would've stayed with the cable company. It's always kicking us in and out of internet connection. We have to unplug it multiple times a day. And if it's raining or snowing it's worst. When I call they always say they're working on the tower but it's been months if this. Not to mention I can't connect my printer to the WiFi so my business is suffering behind this. Does anyone have any solutions to the sucky connection and how to connect to the printer?3.8KViews8likes17Comentariosis there a plug and play external antenna for Sagemcom Fast 5688W Gateway
The assigned cell tower is close about 1 mile, but not a good line of sight (trees, buildings etc.) Debating should I try extenders or mesh to use speeds I have which vary from 24 to 11 download and 5 to 9 upload or look into an antenna. I am worried about trying to open modem and install leads. If I stand on a ladder outside and hold modem up I can get 4 or 5 bars. Only 3 anywhere in house/ I did use the app to locate and have tried a few other things that customer support suggests. I need this to work. I use Zoom for work and medical, can't wait to kick Comcast to the curb, Raised my bill double $125, and will not negotiate.2.4KViews0likes10Comentarios5G internet Fast and Reliable When!?
I signed up for the home internet, I live in a small town in western Washington. I decided to get it because my 5G phone gets 80+ mbs down with really nice latency. So I get the box, I get a great 5 bar connection and for a couple days I experienced 80+ mbs down. I'm almost half way through my 14 day trial. During the day and on weekends, I see 0.28 mbps while my phone, right beside the box, gets 80+. For days now I've been testing and testing. At night itimproves for a few hours before it's back to nothing during core work hours. I don't see a point in customer supportpeople across the planet with scripted responses. They wont directly access the box and they wont alleviate any throttling, theysay "the tower is being worked on" or send another box, and all it does is buy time till my trial is over. Am I missing something here? Most people who seem to have an ok experience with the internet live in metro areas where they don't even need it and have other options such as cable. It's advertised to help connect people in more rural locations except it's actually worse than the ancient 3mb dsl option.250Visto2likes3ComentariosHome Internet failing
Hi everyone! I have been through hell trying to get the most consistent service using my new home internet setup. I initially hadthe grey cylinder and through some troubleshooting / research / 20+ hours on the phone with fairly useless tech support via the Philipenes, have recently gotten a second line with the Arkadian model. I just set up the new device yesterday and am extremelyfrustrated. The signal keeps dropping althoughit's in a location where it is usually "very good," itwill suddenlydropto "No Signal."Even when it is working, Iam not getting anywhere near the speeds from the grey cylinder + a TP-link wifi router that seemed to boost the signal a good bit.I usually connect directly to the black box with a good ethernet cord - that seems to have been the more reliable route but with this new model, I'm concerned that might overwhelm/overheat it. I've already fried one device so I do have a fan under the unit and am careful to keep it out of direct sunlight, away from routers/other devices, etc.Does anyone know what the best way to connect is - WiFi or Ethernet? My job relies on very consistent and fast upload bitrate so ultimately that is the goal... So far, I've tried everything I couldexcept reaching out here so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask! Dropped signal before I was able to post this originally and I'm about to lose my mind!!!Any/all advice would be very helpful - thanks!!!306Visto0likes2Comentarios
