T-Mobile device unlocking SCAM!
My wife lost her phone on 12/15/2023. We received a replacement phone on 12/17/2023 and provisioned it that same day. I paid off my two phones IN PERSON on 12/23/2023. I have a paper receipt for this transaction. The credit card I used confirms the transaction. The device associated with my telephone number shows it is free of carrier restrictions (I can take it to another carrier). However, my wife's phone (the one that was recently replaced) is still locked to our carrier. When I enquired to have the lock removed, I was informed by T-Mobile that they couldn't do that because the phone hadn't been in use on their network for 40 days! I own the phones. I have a receipt that the phones are paid for. I have no outstanding charges. This is a SCAM!1KViews2likes7ComentariosRe: T Mobile bouncing back my emails

All ISPs do this… When you try to connect, there is software that implements the DHCP protocol (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) that gets involved. DHCP "leases" you an IP address from a pool of available IP addresses (and sets up your gateway, default router and name resolvers on the ISPs network). When your lease expires, the IP address you've been assigned goes back into the pool to be (possibly) assigned to someone else. The cable/fiber-optic providers that syaoran mentions will all do this as well. Your home router probably does this too. IP addresses are a scarce resource and using these dynamic allocation techniques allow the ISP to conduct it's business cost effectively. There is no escaping it. One solution is to get a static IP address from the ISP. However, you need to be prepared to pay big bux™for that...if the ISP even offers that option. Cloudmark is an internet security company that provides security solutions to businesses. The IP address that T-Mobile has handed you via DHCP was probably involved in some nefarious activity and appears in one or more of CloudMark's blacklists or threat databases. That's why you're getting blocked or whatever. The solution is to report this to T-Mobile. It's in their best interests to keep their IP addresses out of these collections of perceived threats. Given my experiences with T-Mobile support, I can confidently say that none of the front-/second-line support peoplewould have the slightest clue what you're talking about...and I can guarantee that T-Mobile is NOT (repeat, NOT!) going to let you, a mere customer, talk to their network management engineers (they're probably all off-shore contractors anyway). Good luck to you.4Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: Customer service is almost as bad as actual phone service

It seems that for some areas, they'll pay you off to leave, rather than fix the issue. They offered to do that and I declined. They refused to provide any kind of paper trail or other tangible proof of the transaction after it was done. That would have left me completely exposed for T-Mobile to ruin my credit rating claiming I hadn't paid for the phone. It was a risk I didn't want to take. My situation vis-a-vis T-Mobile is not my first rodeo with an unscrupulous and incompetent service provider (looking at you Comcast).7Visto1like0ComentariosRe: T-Mobile Fails to Deliver on Promised Cell Site Improvement in Newbury Park, CA

When I did this, T-Mobile offered to cancel my contract saying "there are no contracts at T-Mobile." When I asked about my devices, they offered to pay them off but refused to provide a paper trail. I declined their offer. As sure as Tom Mix rode a horse, the device would get paid off but some hot-shot MBA trying to make his bones in the telecom industry wouldn't see that because, apparently, no one at T-Mobile talks to anyone else at T-Mobile,and ruin my credit rating over unmade device payments. Without a paper trail of the payoff, I would be defenseless. I mean...just how stupid do they think I am? P.S. The above exchange took place before the "executive response team" called me back. The "executive response team" member said s/he was "not authorized" to pay off my devices and the previous person wasn't either. S/headvised me to go with another carrier.3Visto1like0ComentariosT Mobile is the worst wireless provider ever
A couple of days ago, I got a notice from my internet provider that I've about used up my 1.2Tb of bandwidth for the month. Part of the reason for this is that the FOUR (count 'em...) T Mobile phones in this house cannot operate without internet service (i.e., wireless calling). The coverage map lists my neighborhood as having 5G available (of course it does!). However, without the internet (like when the power goes out or our internet provider takes our service down for maintenance), I get 1 bar of LTE service at home...not even enough service to make a phone call! Forget about data service (like what's necessary to report power outages)… If I want to make a phone call when my wifi is down, I have to walk about 300 yds down the street before I can get enough service to do that. I've gone around and around with customer "support", their "technical teams" (who usually don't know a router from a locomotive) and "customer support escalation"in Seattle (in chat, on the phone and by email). Nada, bupkis, zero, zilch, zippo, squat… In a rare flash of honesty, one of the customer "support" 'droids in Seattle told me that T Mobile knew of the problem and they weren't going to fix it. I can hardly wait until my contract is up so I can get all the phones unlocked and say buh-bye to T Mobile. After that happens, I will never, ever do business with them again! Ever, ever, EVER! I've dealt with a lot of service providers in my time on this earth, and, by far, T Mobile is the worst! They should be paying me to use their service!414Visto1like3Comentarios
