Re: How to port out of family plan and change to individual plan
@fireguy_6364is 100% correct if you are wishing to set up your own individual T-Mobile account. If the Primary Account Holderagreeable to the change, I would recommend that you dial 1-800-T-Mobile to initiate your account first, then have the PAH dial 611to complete the change of responsibility. It doesn't matter if they call in first, but you'll still need to speak to activations to start your account before your number can be transferred. Please note, if you are making payments on a device through EIP (equipment installment plan), we will send you a link to a Docu-Sign website where you will sign an agreement to take over the payments. If you fail to complete this step, your device payments will remain on the other account. Also, if you have a Jump On Demand payment plan, you will not be able to move the device payments to a different account at all. If you are hoping to port your number out to another carrier, you will need to obtain the account number and the PIN/Passcode on the account in order to complete the port. You will also need to confirm that the PAH doesn't have any port-out blocks on the account. Hope this helps!200Visto4likes0ComentariosRe: how can I turn off everything of child's phone except for call and text?
T-Mobile offers a Talk and Text only plan that does not include data at all, but if you have Wi-Fi in the home, he'll still be able to use it. Family Mode does allow you to control data usage, but again- access to Wi-Fi means he'll still be able to get online. There is an additional Family Mode Home Base that you can connect to your router and control his access to the Wi-Fi. Alternatively, and I'm sure other ISPs offer a similar service, but the Comcast XFinity app allows you to view all devices connected to your home internet gateway and you can *pause* the data to that device, which is much easier than changing the Wi-Fi password. The absolute easiest way to stop the data: Log in to T-Mobile.com, select his line, choose Manage Data and Add-Ons, then change his data feature to "No Data". You can change this back at any time if you wish. Hope this helps!21Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: Im trying to send a text to a 5 digit number and i get a response, "Service Access Denied", why?
@drockwell, did you have a chance to reach out and see if your shortcodes were blacklisted? I understand you may have never specifically requested a block on them, but you may remember a few years ago when "Premium" SMS were popular- folks could receive dailyhoroscopes and things like that and were unaware that they were being charged for a subscription on their phone bill. For that reason, most shortcodes were automatically blacklisted with the cellular carriers unless you specifically ask for them to be allowed, or for only specific numbers to be allowed. If you've reached out to T-Mobile and requested the shortcode blacklist to be removed and you still aren't able to receive them, you will have to check your phone's settings. Depending on your device manufacturer and software version, the method could be different. (Your mileage may vary..) For Samsung: Settings>Apps>Menu (3 dots in the upper right hand corner)>Special Access>Use Premium Text Message Services>Always Allow For LG: Settings>Apps & Notifications>Special Access>Premium SMS Access>Always Allow For Apple: There is not a specific setting to turn off/on Premium Messaging, but you will want to check: Settings>Messages>SMS (ON) and make sure MMS and Group messages are on too. If you've hit all of these steps and you still can't get shortcodes, you might want to do a little research and find out what the number is that is trying to reach out to you. (Try searching online or calling the company directly to find out); then send a the message HELP to that number and see if you get a response. For example, Walgreens sends out prescription status updates from the number 21525. If you send HELP to 21525, you should receive a reply back with instructions how to contact them. Hope this helps!3Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: T-Mobile app keeps stopping.
I know how annoying that is! The same thing happened to me a while back. Here's what helped me: Go intoSettings Find Apps (your mileage may vary depending on your device, might say App Info or App manager) but you're going to be seeing your entire list of applications They should be in alphabetical order, find T-Mobile. There may be two, one will be larger than the other. Click the smaller of the two. Tap Force Stop, then click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. Click Uninstall Updates. Reboot. Hope this helps!16Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: AMERICAN CUSTOMER SUPPORT
I'm sorry that you're having a poor experience trying to reach out to care.@syaoranis right, if you call early in the day you're way more likely to reach your local team. Call volume tends to beelevated around this time of the yearand this means that some calls are routed to the outsource call center, so earlier is better. Most sites are open 7am-9pm but your mileage may vary depending on your Team of Experts' location.12Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: How Can I Setup My T-Mobile ID for My Home Internet Account...???
@Bjn1104 Everyone that's having this issue, try this link : https://www.t-mobile.com/isp In the upper right hand corner, click "My Account" and below that there is another link for Home Internet customers to sign up for a T-Mobile ID and it doesn't require a phone number. Hope this helps!13Visto2likes0ComentariosRe: Fraudulent activity by a TMobile employee switching my SIM # to a new device to steal funds
I'm just throwing this out there but something else to consider is that the e-mail address associated with your T-Mobile account could have been compromised. I encourage everyone to add 2 step authentication to their e-mail account because someone could log in to your e-mail to receive the one time pin that is sent out when performing a SIM update. If you're getting notifications that your password on T-Mobile.com has changed, it could be because of the e-mail address access.4Visto1like0Comentarios
