Usually it's a safety measure added to their terms of use agreement in the event that someone abuses the network capacity in a way that affects a certain location and there isn't enough capacity to account for all the data being used by a single tower, node or cell site.Re: Can I pause or disable my 5Ghz band?
Which gateway do you have, the Arcadyn model or the Nokia? I'm using the Arcadyn model and am able to have 2GHz & 5GHz connections under separate names and passwords instead of their default automatic mode which merges the two frequencies under one separate name and password. Unfortunately, I don't see a way to disable 5GHZ exclusively unless you're willing to void the warranty by following a guide on YouTube on how to do (Gateway could bootloop if done incorrectly.)Re: Naming devices connected to Home Internet
Seems that it's not quite possible to do so yet on the Arcadyn model; although I'm guessing there are two ways to do this, as an alternative, which the first involves Private DNS settings or the second being the device name. Whatever settings you do change, It's possible that it takes full effect once your restart the gateway and it autoconnects to the network under those changes.Re: ACP Program
It's possible that they may allow it in the future, but for now only MetroPCS customers seem to qualify for ACP. They even recently launched home internet on February 24th, 2022 and the gateway is $99.99 (Arcadyan model) without a credit check. If you apply the $30 discount, the service would be cheaper; a phone line is required unfortunately for you to be able to obtain home internet service with MetroPCS.Re: Arcadyan gateway

No issues on my end, just got mine yesterday but i do recommend that you press and hold the little reset button in the back of the device until the screen counts down from 5 seconds to 1 and then restarts; after that, go through the process of set up but don't change any settings until the unit is fully activated. Once that's done, go back to the T-Mobile home internet app and change the settings to your desired input and the gateway should restart and work just fine; Keep in mind, you don't need to unplug the unit all the time, especially if you're moving it an inch or two away from your window to get better service.
