Re: does domestic roaming show partner carrier
formercanuck wrote: Unless something has recently changed, you should be roaming on AT&T in Big Sur. Do you remember what network it said it was on? Did you get alert about domestic roaming like a text message? I did not try to stream video but music streaming and page load on LTE over there was OK. Definietly big improvement over last time I was there on Xfinity Mobile, Google Fi or AT&T. In Nepenthe not long time ago you wouldn't get reception and now you can! ;)6Visto0likes0Comentariosdoes domestic roaming show partner carrier
I have T-Mobile prepaid. I am in Big Sur, CA where TMobile shows its area with a partner coverage. However I have not really noticed any behavior from native. The indicator indicates I am on "T-Mobile LTE" as if I were in native coverage area. The phone I used was Pixel 6a and even had 5G in parts of Big Sur. Therefore am I roaming or does TMobile have now native coverage there and has not updated its coverage map yet?Solved230Visto0likes5ComentariosRe: Move line from Postpaid to Prepaid
This will depend on now much you want to give up. Assuming you don't ever go over 10GB in any month, there is Tmobile prepaid $10gb for $40 t-mobile connect for less in range $10-35 but strict data cut off after using data allotment mvnos like Mint Mobile with plans that start at $15 a month but typically you need to pay in 3, 6 or 12 months in advance with 1 year giving you best prices. You start monthly for first 3 months to test their service. MVNO are more deprioritized, and don't have domestic roaming (so if you live in Nebraska or go to Big Sure, CA you won't be able to use partners cell towers). However most still offer globalinternational calling texting and include roaming to Canada/Mexico at no charge or small monthly add on fee and some include good plans for usage beyond North America (Google Fi).21Visto1like0ComentariosRe: Is data on T-Mobile prepaid plans (10GB, Unlm, Unlm+) deprioritirized?
gramps28 wrote: Tmobile post paid line is faster for data and a better roaming agreement. From what I've read it's Tmobile post paid plans then prepaid then the MNVO's for priority. So I just checked T-Mobile prepaid and mint mobile coverage map for my out of town planned travel destination Big Sur, CS and indeed with Mint I would loose domestic roaming. But what I found interesting a video from YouTube from speed test 2 years ago that it seemed indicate T-Mobile Max postpaid > TMobile Prepaid > TMobile Essential postpaid > MVNO (Mint, Metro) in priority.11Visto0likes0ComentariosIs data on T-Mobile prepaid plans (10GB, Unlm, Unlm+) deprioritirized?
Do they have same priority as Go5G, 5GPlus or they are deprioritized same way as Essential plan? Thinking about switching to Mint if the priority access is the same since they have better prices and actually useable app for prepaid!682Visto1like2ComentariosT-Mobile prepaid no international
When checking for roaming charges, I get that I have this: sms $0.50 and $0.10 to receive (outside Canada) MMS $0.25 to send and receive However its quite difficult to find what prepaid users have to pay for international texting from the US because details are in fine print and its not clear if charges for MMS are same as for SMS (it may just use a domesticdata allotment) It looks like unlimited included for Canada and Mexico other countries $0.10 for outgoing text messages, free to receive no mention of separate MMS charges so MMS same rates apply as for SMS? ¡Gracias!157Visto0likes2ComentariosRe: Charges for sending text messages
drnewcomb wrote: P.S. Note the fine print says, For T-Mobile prepaid plans, texts from the US to international destinations, excluding Canada and Mexico, have a pay-per-use rate of $0.10/SMS It probably explains why when I try to send a text reply to someone from the UK. I get message "Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active." despite having blocking international calls/texts turned off in my account. I have prepaid monthly $40 10GB plan with no prepaid balance. I just switched from Xfinity Mobile which allowed free international texting but needed to switch due to disconnecting my Xfinity cable service (without it they impose $25 line access which makes it financially infeasible).13Visto0likes0Comentarios
