ER nurse here as well and I couldn't have said it better myself.  I absolutely am switching to a different phone company.  Nurses, especially ER nurses are first responders and we go above and beyond to save multiple lives daily.  We are UNDERPAID, OVERWORKED, SHORT STAFFED, SLEEP DEPRIVED, AND UNAPPRECIATED. The least t-mobile could do is give us a discount (and it was barely a discount to begin with).  You guys make an insane amount of money and every single person running this company and working for this company has had a nurse some how some way save or preserve their life.  Shame on you t-mobile.  I am absolutely going to make it known to my fellow first responders, THAT YOU APPARENTLY DONT CONSIDER FIRST RESPONDERS, to switch companies as well.  NOT ONLY DID YOU TAKE THE DISCOUNT AWAY, YOU WERE SNEAKY AND DIDNT EVEN INFORM ME THAT THE DISCOUNT WAS GOING TO BE REVOKED.

Yes, something has to change. And, not with just T-Mobile, but other companies as well. It's ridiculous how unrecognizable we as nurses are. It's sad. I've had this discount for years without any issues until a year ago. Now, nurses don't qualify and we have to be verified.

Just came to say I agree! ER nurse and being not qualified now. Looks like AT&T has a discount. 

i am a nurse and was really surprised i did not qualify for the first responder program/discount.  i signed up with tmobile because the “salesperson” for tmobile “guaranteed” i would qualify.  what a joke.  i would like to hear from tmobile and hear their explanation on this. 

Fellow nurse here who thinks it’s a joke that Nurse’s don't quality. 

I have also been on the first responder plan since the height of COVID and they switched my account to the MAX plan without any warning or explanation.  I just called in and after a lengthy conversation with the person there (Steve), I was told that what I did before would no longer work.  This is awful because nurses ARE first responders.  What's worse is to find out they just switched me back without ever even alerting me beforehand.  I have been with T-Mobile for many years (10+) and always had great things to say about them.  This move right here was backhanded and now my bill is jacked up.

How awful that nurses don't get a discount. I work private duty and am literally the first point of contact for my patient before EMTs, police etc I am there and I literally keep my patients out of the hospital every day with the specialized skills I perform. Nurses touch lives everyday. Most people are in contact with a nurse in their first and last days of life. How we are so underappreciated I will never understand....

I like many of you experienced this issue just today. It is incredibly mind blowing that a paramedic is considered a first responder because they are "first on the scene", as an emergency department nurse, we don't wait and call EMS when a gunshot victim gets dumped at the ER door and we don't tell our walk in trauma patients to please hold until a paramedic arrives. NO WE RESPOND TO EVERY EMERGENCY AND TRAUMA THE MINUTE THEY WALK IN…… FIRST ON THE SCENE AT THIS POINT, that to me sounds like a first responder. Its crazy how we were considered hero's and made the first responder list during the pandemic and now they are trying to take it from us as if we are no longer considered vital. During a mass casualty the emergency nurses are required to go out and assist paramedics so please make it make sense. I shouldn't have to fight for my case before having it "manually overridden". T-mobile needs to re-evaluate their system and include emergency nurses if not ALL NURSES as first responders. I most definitely will be taking my money to a service that acknowledges and appreciates nurses always and not just during a pandemic. 

All Nurses risked their lives everyday taking care of covid patients before there was a vaccine... A few of my fellow nurses were hospitalized and almost died after catching Covid while caring for patients before we really even knew how to treat it best and when the virus was most deadly... We deal with trauma patients, victims of gun violence and poor outcomes involving kids and other vulnerable populations. We should not be excluded. Just another example of nurses being crapped on.
