Phone network suddenly locked

I have been using a T-mobile Samsung S6 since almost 10 years ago.

It was gifted to me after it was unlocked, now it is suddenly saying the network is lock and it is not working.

How can I unlock the network again and how this happened?

Wow! Amazing that you have been using the same phone for 10 years. I can see why. I had the S6 for a long time and was really sad to get rid of it. Once the device is eligible for the unlock, and the unlock is completed through the Device Unlock app, it should never become locked again and the Device Unlock app actually disappears from the phone. I have a few questions to clarify the situation so I can make sure you get the right answers.

How did they do the unlock initially?

Do you have the S6 connected to wifi when you try to use the unlock app?

What is the exact error that you get when you try to do the permanent unlock?

Are you sure the device is network locked and not IMEI blocked?

The original owner needs to make the request so contact your relative.

It was sold by Tmobile but not to me. One of my relatives acquiered it in USA almost 10 years ago, and gifted it to me after unlocking it, I have been using it since then without any network problems, but now it says it is locked and the Device Unlock app is not allowing me to unlock it.

    Don't know how this happened.

Tmobile can only unlock phones that they sell and for their customers.
