In the off chance someone is still struggling with this.
Found that by holding phone close to bright light screen returned to normal. That allowed me to turn off Adaptive brightness in Display settings and raise the screen brightness very high. Seems to have fixed the issue.
Wish I’d looked into this b4 replacing an otherwise perfectly functioning phone.
Guess that is what Samsung wanted. People to replace phones.
