Considering upgrade to S22+ -- reception better than S20 FE 5G?
I haven't been particularly happy with my S20 FE 5G (TMO), and I'm considering upgrading to the S22+
He tenido lots of reception problems with the S20 FE 5G. SMS messages have not gone through, or show up in duplicate or triplicate sometimes, or sometimes images don't get sent. I've read that the S22+ has much better signal reception/radios? Curious to hear from those who have upgraded, or who live in areas with marginal reception and have the S22
Since I never have these problems with WhatsApp, I'm assuming that this is a carrier network problem. I'm just outside Chicago city limits, at home I have to use 4G since 5G doesn't work very well, a few blocks from here I get no cellular signal at all, and a few block further up it's 5G all the way. I'm hoping the S22+ will be able to get me 5G everywhere, or at least eliminate the dead-zone.
I’d also be interested in general comparisons, speed, features, between the S22+ and the S20 FE 5G.
I'm primarily concerned about signal reception however. Otherwise, I'm not sure it's worth upgrading. Comments? Am I overlooking something?
¡Gracias!
FWIW: I've had the S3, S6 and S9 with TMO and none of them had problems with connectivity - yes, I know, all pre-5G too.

Samsung modems have been very disappointing over the past few years. The best devices for usable signal in areas where service is a bit on the weak side, would be OnePlus devices. I get no service in my apartment on any other devices except using OnePlus devices. Whether it's the 7 Pro, 8T, or 9. They all give me 2 bars of usable service where an iPhone, S9+, S20 FE 5G, and other devices have no service. Obviously, where you are and the bands deployed locally might vary as well as any kind of potential interference.

Thanks for the reply, yes, local towers etc play a major role for sure, but if a different phone can pull in a better signal it may be worth it.
Both of these reviews mention both have great reception “That's because both devices feature Qualcomm's new X65 modem and associated antenna tuning technology.”

Obviously, that’s just one source.
Of all my Samsung phones, the S20 FE 5G has had the worst performance .. the S22+, if I get it, may be my last Samsung device if it doesn't perform. Thanks for putting the OnePlus devices on my radar too.

The S20 FE 5G is excellent. I'm sure it has terrible performance because 5G was horrid at first but I literally just got my mom one and I have s21+. The S20 FE was not a dramatic difference. Actually the A32 5G has an excellent modem just saying for perspective.

My experience with the S20 FE 5G just hasn’t lived up to my expectations, even when I use 4G/LTE most of the time, I still have problems with signals/reception, very frustrating.
Thanks for the comment re the A32, haven’t looked at that model before, will take a look.
