LG-V20 flaky connection since the last ims.rcsprovider fiasco
Title says it but let's refresh your mind… since last T-mobile network update fiasco that killed the usability of LG phones, my V20 has has issues keeping a connection to the cell network. It will connect but will loose it after a while of walking around. It was horribel at the beach so I checked the coverage map, and it was showing all pink, so I assumed it was ok… still had to go outside the hotel and hang around a metal pole to get connection and be able to talk.
Back home, it is fairing no better. I even have a T-mobile mini cell booster at home cuz the coverage is sketchy, however, the phone will go in "Searching..." all the time. Then I set it to airplane mode and bring it back online again.. voila, connection is there. but not for long.
WiFi calling also became very sketchy… it dies all the time at the hotel, home and work, i.e, everywhere so I can’t use WiFi calling.
Already did a couple “Network settings reset” and power off/on, same issue.
So, what gives ? Who else is having this issue ?
it’s worth to mention that we also have a couple G7 and one G8 that seems solid, but not the V20 (thank you Tmobile and LG for not updating the software)

not to mention you would lose calls once you left your wifi connection.

Not sure about that but I think all phones supplied by TMO have their software customized to provide WiFi calls, so we may be in the clear on that side.
Regarding regular texts our workaround has been to use Whatsapp among ourselves, but granted, that wouldn’t work for the usual 2FA setup which depends on text messages… that would screw things up. - fireguy_6364Modem Master
i have a feeling one or more of those devices will be non operable here before to long. are they all VoLTE capable (Voice over LTE)? if not once they shut down the 3G side of things they wont be able to make calls or send/receive regular texts. pretty sure the G8 should be fine..not to sure about the G7 or V20 since theyre up to the V60 being their current V line

Thanks… i was alaready with TMO … since long ago.
I may have found the fix, or rather, “undid the fix attempts” since the IMS problem.
Dialed 277334#*#
Picked Ip VersionSelected IPV4V6 and rebooted. Seems to be holding now.
Previously I had simply IPV4 (when the mess started, it was what kept me “alive”) so now, it’s back to (i guess) what it was before.
Time will tell but shouldn’t take any longer than the next 4 hours when I walk out of the campus.

seeing as how LG is no longer you wont be seeing much other than security patches..
with that being said..were you already with TMO or did you merge over from Sprint?
