Need solution for T-Mobile blocking TCP
We have a coach monitoring system that we need to transmit data to an off-site server.
The gateway is connected via wifi, and the data is transmitted from the coach’s dual-carrier router.
The monitor works flawlessly when connected via AT&T's SIM. But, anytime we connect to T-Mobile, our preferred service, the data is blocked and we can no longer monitor our systems.
I’ve been told the gateway uses a simple, old protocol of FTP and uses TCP port 8079.
I have no idea how to fix this problem, but refuse to just quit out of ignorance.

Have you tried changing the TCP port to something more common?

I'm not aware of any way I can do that. I'm reaching out to the techs who make the Gateway to find out if there's anything that can be done, including switching SFTP.
Gracias.

Current issue over here as well. I have an FTP client built into my camera (Canon R6) and it works great moving images from my camera directly to my server UNLESS I'm trying to use my iPhone hotspot with T-Mobile service. I went to the T-Mobile store today and verified that it is the network blocking traffic and to use a VPN. So my option is either to change cell phone service, buy a mobile hotspot or use a VPN which will likely slow down my upload speeds.

I currently have the same problem but with a alarm module that uses UDP port 4021.. I have 2 properties that I can no longer monitor the property… This is a deal breaker for me if they cannot figure out a solution. Evey thing else works great. But no alarm cant tell if property is safe.. Bye tmobile
