Need stronger signal
At our house we have dropouts during phone conversations too often. We seldom have 4 bars here, usually just 3. Is there anything such as aftermarket hardware to strengthen the signal?

what type of phones do you have? and do you by chance have wifi at home?

also forgot to ask..but the signal you are able to pull in at your home...is it 5G or 4G?

We both have pretty new iPhones, and we have good wifi at home. But even with strong wifi and 3 of 4 bars for cell, call quality is pretty unreliable.

you have wifi calling turned on correct?

if im remembering right to fully use wifi calling with an apple device you have to go into settings and its either under voice or data but there should be an option in there to switch between using the regular network for calls or preferred data calls..
not an apple owner/user but have been around the block a few times device wise..as long as your wifi is strong and solid making wifi calls should be pretty clear.
i have been trying to think of any posters that assist in here that own an Apple device and for the life of me i can not think of a single one lol.

It’s 4G. That’s good input about the switch in settings, will give it a go.

If you have WiFi Calling set as preferred, the phone will attempt to use even a weak WiFi signal. In my house this results in dropped calls in certain parts of the house where the WiFi is ½ power or less.

That makes sense. Going to try some different angles on it. Thanks for the help - it can be hard to find these days!

I suspect that 3 or seldom 4 bars alone is 'weak enough' to cause issues. Its more likely an issue with capacity or the site itself. Typically, indoors I have 3 or 4 bars of LTE, and speeds are great. Even if I force B41 LTE (Sprint) with 2 bars at best, speed is typically ~50Mbps, and no issues with dropped calls.
If you are quite the distance from a site (+3 miles) uplink can suffer as well as capacity if you're on B12/B71. If you're in an area that has a single site, and a good amount of users… it 'and' you're seeing issues, I'd recommend calling 611. Its possibly capacity. In a small city near me (Filmore, CA), capacity was (and still kind of is) a huge issue.
