samsung smart tv
Here is what I know after extensive testing concerning performance particulary where is concerns samsung smart tv. When you unplug the tv fo 60 seconds to clear cashe as samaung suggests ot or a loss of power to your home here is what happens. Most devices have the option to automatically sign into your wifi connection. Well a samsung tv does not have the option so when the above happens the tv will run at 2.4 not 5g internet. You have to go ti settings and log in again to the 5g network for tmobile. If you do not do this you will be about 49mbs. If you use the app and restart the gate way everything connects and you run on the 5g gateway not std 2.4. This is a samsung fail not to allow auto connect to you 5g network. Samsung will tell you it is provider issue and they only run on 2.4. Not correct if on 5g gateway you fly consistantly. Not signing into gate way after power loss or unplugging tv is the source of slow internet. If you reset tv cashe by holding off button down untill you se the samsung logo everything comes on line at 5g.

Hola @android,
It's interesting to note that the TV defaults to the 2.4 GHz network after a power loss or when unplugged, and that manual intervention is required to connect to the 5 GHz network for optimal performance. This could indeed be a limitation of the TV's software or configuration.
Your tip about resetting the TV cache by holding down the power button until you see the Samsung logo is also valuable information for those looking to optimize their TV's internet performance.
Hopefully, your insights will help others improve their Samsung Smart TV experience.

I’m not sure I totally understand your problem...but if the Samsung is capable of connecting to a 5 GHz WiFi band, but connects only to the 2.4 GHz band on start-up, why not just create a separate SSID that only uses 5 GHz, and have the TV only refer to that SSID?

I ran into this issue too and the simple solution that worked for me is to setup a new router on the t-mobile 5G internet gateway (in my case it was a google wifi router) and then make Samsung tv connect to this SSID.
Note: i tried setting up a 2.5 Ghz band on the Tmobile 5G internet gateway itself (ie, a dedicated SSID for the Samsung TV) but that didnt help
