Sudden Loss of 5UC Network

We live in an area where we have 5G ultra data. Last night, I tried sending a MMS to a friend and it wouldn't send. I disconnected my Wifi and noticed I was on 4LTE network instead of the usual 5UC. I read on our community page in Facebook that others are having this issue with T-Mobile but doesn't explain why it's happening or when it'll be fixed. So my question is, what's going on with the 5G service?
