Why am I shown in the wrong location?
I’ve spoken with T-mobile support several times about this issue and the last tec support guy said it’s due to the location of their towers but noone else around here is having the issue.
My location is in another state and it's bothersome when my bank sends me emails asking if it was me who just accessed my account. There are others who will do the same. And when I search for something, it brings up the wrong state. Google has me in the right location. This has to be a issue with my router. I hope to get this resolved this time and if not, I will be changing servers
Additionally, my laptop says it can't connect to gateway! ¿Qué es esto?

Ipconfig has me in Minnesota. Why do other people in this town not have the same issue? It's very inconvenient when I am searching for something and it gives me options in Minnesota

This is what I am experiencing too and yes it's become bothersome having to verify it's me because my actual location isn't matching and I get multiple security messages asking me if it's me and in Minneapolis. Can't T-Mobile fix this??

Its in part due to geo-tagging of the IP address. With Spectrum (TWC), IPs are almost 'static' and typically geo-tagged to your residence, and are using standard IP addresses - non RFC 1918 (10.x.y.z, 192.168.x.y style).
T-Mobile effectively uses a NAT IP. As a result, your 'real' ip is at a POP / aggregator.
Run 'ifconfig.me' and then do a geo location lookup. It'll most likely be at an urban location where T-Mobile aggregates it NAT IP address to public.
So how does one get t mobile to fix this!? I constantly get notifications asking me if it's "really me"! Have to verify my location and identity multiple times. I'm glad there's that but I'm not in Minneapolis MN. When I search for example a restaurant and a location with driving directions it has me starting in MN- and everything I search is the same.

It has to do with how it reads the wifi, I have Cox cable in the Phoenix area and always shows that I’m in Destin,CA.

No one answered my last ? of why others in my area aren't being shown out of state. I'm still shown in Minnesota and last month for a short duration, I came up as being in Miami Fl.. Please. this has me concerned.

I'd like someone at Tmobile to answer this question also. I live in the Des Moines area and the router is showing us in Minneapolis. Can this be corrected?

I am not understanding the replies on this issue. And it's causing also of problems for me. This is a reply from a website I'm a member of but can't utilize their extra perks because of my location. What are they telling me and what can I do? Thanks in advance
The message you are receiving appears when the LD website is accessed from a state that prohibits discounts and promotions. Digital rebates, rewards, and mobile coupons are void in NJ, NY, MA, MN and where restricted or prohibited by law, and the Savings and Rewards sections will not appear as an option when accessing the LD website from within those states. While you may not presently be in one of those states, when you receive that particular error message it is because the IP address you are connecting to the LD website from is either being flagged as based in one of the restricted states or the location is unable to be verified.
Because our encryption is legally required to be handled by an independent third party, we are unable to override it when it flags an IP as being restricted. In past instances where you may have been able to access the website without issue you were likely connecting from a different IP address, which suggests you may be in a different location or using a device that is connecting via a different means (wi-fi vs. a wired connection, or a wireless carrier vs. traditional ISP). Should you continue to receive the "State Regulations" error, I would suggest either connecting or disconnecting to wi-fi (the opposite of however you were connected when receiving the error), or potentially attempting to connect from a different device. If you are using a VPN, please make sure you are disconnected from it while accessing the LD website.
Because this is an issue caused by your local connection to the internet unfortunately it is not an issue that we can resolve for you on our end as the host. You will need to modify your internet connection via one of the methods described above to be able to access the restricted pages of the LD websit - PineymikeNetwork Novice
Have had this thing a month and a half. Wife and girls take car out of town for a few days, car still thinks it is 6 hours away. Called customer support, reset it and now I get periodic reports but not regular ones and it still shows the vehicle parked 6 hours away.
Got this for my teen driver, not to know where she was last month.
Tried deleting car and adding device, still shows it sitting 6 hours away. Called for support and learned that it was too early. If you bought this for any type of security reasons for a loved one, think again.
They’ve got one more chance before I go back to VZW.
