How can I activate the SIM card for my new Gateway 5G?
I got a new Gateway 5G, followed all the instructions, WIFI connection works, but I don't have internet. After hours of research I found that the SIM card needs to be activated, but I don't know how.
@Viennacalling In my experience, T-Mobile activates the card with their device. Take your gateway and SIM card back to your local TM store and have them activate it. It sounds like an oversight.
You switch the sim cards in old and new T-mobile boxes, then the new box can be used for the connection.
Thank you! I finally got to speak with someone from TMobile who knew what to do. For whatever reason the Gateway had not been added to my account and the SIM card had not been activated. The solution they provided was to send me a new equipment and a shipping label to send this one back.
There was a fee I had to pay for that, however it's supposed to be added as a credit to my account. They also said they'd send me the better equipment with the WIFI mesh which runs at a higher monthly fee which apparently they will adjust down to my original fee. Let's see.
