Phone not working overseas
I have a Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite and I have been using my phone for years with no problem in Turkey. But I arrived to Turkey today and I did not get the welcome message and I have no internet. I am guessing it has to do with settings. International Data Roaming is ON. I rebooted my phone but stil no go. My phone never had the Tmobile software loaded but always worked in Turkey
Where else in settings I should look?

The roaming partners in Turkey are Turk Telecom, Turkcell, and Vodafone. You can try to change your network mode to 2G or 3G and see if you are able to connect that way.
Syaoran is correct that the T-Mobile App is great for managing your account. You could download it to review your account and see if there are any roaming blocks on your line. You can do that by logging in to the website also.
If all else fails, drnewcomb has a great suggestion of using our free international support number to contact customer support and get some additional help.

The Roaming setting in the phone normally only affects data. You need to build from the ground up, first start with texts, then voice and finally data. Does your phone do WiFi Calling? If so, get on WiFi and call T-Mobile's international support desk at +1-505-998-3793. They won't be able to answer questions about your BYOD phone but you can ask about your account settings.

I will look into it
Does it help if I download the Tmobile app?
The T-Mobile app is just to manage your account. You can do the same through my.t-mobile.com.

Have you tried searching for networks and trying to connect to the roaming partner manually? Is your device compatible with the roaming partner's network? Over time, networks get upgraded and that sometimes affects the connectivity of older devices. Have you tried adding the APN of the roaming partner to your APN settings?
My device always worked in Turkey until today. I made sure roaming is ON and I also reset the network settings.
How do I know who my roaming partner i s?
