No.  Network upgrades and tower maintenance are necessary.  It might be a bit of an inconvenience but life is full of inconveniences that don't require or need compensation for.

Understood but they obviously were not prepared

for this as they told one person that they had to wait for a piece to repair it. And if this was scheduled, it would have been nice for them to have informed their customers that would be affected - it is called being proactive
