Complaint on Go5G Next Plan and yearly upgrade - Issue with max lease credit availability and with 5 lines
Roly wrote:Complaint: The yearly upgrade feature of the GO5G Next plan seems to discriminate against larger families due to the max lease credit availability cap to $5,400 to $6,000 independently of the number of lines in the account. meaning if you only have 2 lines then a max lease credit availability of $1,900 per line would allow each line to upgrade yearly with no issues (provided average current phone prices). Now, if you have 5 lines like me the cap is $5,400 would only provide $1,000 per line for yearly upgrade (vs phone costs of $1,200 or more).
My current situation, after 12 plus months of paying the Go5G next plans (for the yearly upgrade), I come to find out that I was only able to upgrade 2 phones, and the other 3 won’t be able to upgrade due to lack of lease credit availability (I am maxed out with the 5 leased phones).
The only option i was provided after speaking with numerous reps and supervisors, is to pay the phone in full or the balance. The issue with this option is that it would put me at a disadvantage. Meaning at the next 12-months/yearly upgrade, I would loose half of the full payment, rather than paying as you go, as intended with the plan.
The main issue lies in the current policy capping the lease credit per account regardless of the # of lines in the account.
This may have worked better when the average phones were cheaper, but not in today's world. So am stuck paying for a Go5G Next plan and NOT be able to benefit from the yearly upgrade, which is what prompted me to upgrade to that plan to begin with.
This does not seem right. I have great credit and have paid on time, this Max lease credit availability is NOT possible to increase it per Corporate policy. This should be capped per line NOT per account, which either unintentionally or by design discriminates against larger families.
My plea here is escalate this concern to someone at Corporate with the capability to address or drive change towards a reasonable solution/option to this Go5G Next plan design flaw.
Gracias
