Change existing 2-factor authentication on prepaid
I have two-factor authentication (TFA/MFA) set up with an authentication app for my prepaid account. I just got a new phone and am trying to find how to switch the codes over to it, but I cannot find where to make the change. I can't remember how I set 2FA up previously, as it was several years ago. Does anyone know how to do this?
Did you transfer your data to the new phone? Your apps should of transferred also.
Yes, but the 2FA authorizations did not transfer with it, and the app I'm using has no apparent way of extracting the seed information.
I found this answer on reddit and it worked for me:(31July2024) (thanks to JHyde2109!!) At least I was able to change my authenticator app. Didn’t see a way to eliminate sms text message
