On my t mobile internet app, I'm trying to turn off devices that are connected to my internet and I have a few that everytime I try to turn them off it says " unable to update at this time". Very annoying. I don't even know what devices they are. Does anybody know why??
I don't know how familiar you are with networking, but I assume you're referring to the Devices tab in the T-Mobile app. Every device on your network has a Media Access Control (MAC) number that it advertises and is unique to each one of your devices. Some of them even broadcast their name (Wemo or Netgear) and others just offer their number.
While it is a royal PITA, each device has its MAC number printed on the device itself, usually on the back of the item. You'll need a common magnifying glass to read it unless you have great vision. That's how to identify which devices are on your network via the T-Mobile app.
As for the "Unable to update at this time", it is probably because it's in use, or at least the network or the device thinks so. That's what would keep you from scheduling or shutting them off. See you can give the Forum an example of a device that's giving you that error.
I hope this helps and gives you a bit of insight into what is going on with your network. ¡Buena suerte!

@Justinalder23, in addition to the well-informed comments from @bocaboy2591, I have found success rebooting the gateway, then after your network comes online, try to disconnect devices one at a time.
The lack of editing on the T-Mobile app > Devices is a shame. It would be nice to be able to click on the device and then change the name from the MAC address to a human recognizable name Livingroom TV.
¡Buena suerte!

Another thing you might try is downloading an app for your computer or phone that will scan your network and come back with their IP and MAC numbers. Those programs allow you to do what @copz1998 is alluding to. I use iNet for Mac to do this and recommend it to everyone who wants to identify what's on their network. The "friendly" names you assign to devices will only be visible to you in iNet, but you'll be able to easily correlate the MAC number in iNet (or whatever app you choose) to the information you're seeing in the T-Mobile app.
Hope this helps!

In the app showing devices mine shows roku tv bedroom laptop cell phone # ect. So should be able to see what where they are.
In the case of possible of your internet being used by someone else change gayeway ssid/pw.
