Is there any hope for Home Internet to work in the near future?
I've read numerous posts about the issues with Home Internet and the KVD21. I'm experiencing same thing as everyone else. I started out this summer with OK service and it's steadily degraded ever since. It is now terrible. Connection goes up and down, slow speeds, very inconsistent (the only way I'm able to be on this web page and typing right now is because I'm tethered to my phone instead). I've had three long calls with customer care and I am on my second gateway device. I'm ready to go back to Centurylink.
Is there any hope? Does T-Mo know what is wrong and doing anything to mitigate it and fix it? I don't mind being an early adopter and going through some lumps in the process, but I need to know that there might be a solution coming sometime in the near term. I live in Seattle, in the city. There is great coverage on my phone.

My KDV21 gateway worked great for a couple of months last summer. Then in September it became virtually unusable (slow!). I complained to tech support and they told me the same thing they've been telling everyone else - “The tower you connect to is being upgraded.”
To my surprise, I received an email from TMobile in early November saying that indeed, the tower I connect to most frequently is being upgraded. Just for kicks I drove by the tower a day or two later and there were technicians hanging out by their trucks. I stopped to chat and they were friendly, saying that they were upgrading the tower from LTE to 5G. They said that in a couple of days I should be rocking.
Two days later I began getting over 200 Mbps downloads and 10 Mbps uploads!
So to answer your question, there is hope. But I think you need to be patient, because no one knows TMobile's upgrade schedule.

I have had the same problem for over a year. It's awful and I don't know what to do because I live in a rural area where there really is no better alternative. I thought this was going to be the answer, but alas…it's not much better than dial up.

I just read today that T-Mobile will be bringing 2 new gateways on-board, hopefully things will work better but only if they replace our existing units.

I subscribed to T-mobile home internet about 6 months ago. At first service was barely acceptable. Speeds varied wildly. I got the same answer... Tower scheduled for upgrade.
Well, at the end of April the tower was indeed upgraded. Since then I consistently get 400mb down and 75mb up. Late at night I've even reached over 500mb! And for $30/mo. I've completely cut the chord thanks to t-mobile. Comcast can kiss my A$$.
Gotta be patient as they upgrade their system. I'm glad I hung in there. Also positioning of your modem makes a huge difference. Experimenta.
