new voice mail and it's asking me to setup voicemail
I have a new voicemail but it's asking me to setup voicemail again. Been setup and working for the last 20 years. I'm suspicious. ¿Qué debo hacer? How do I contact t-mobile for help and not just the community?
I was VERY nervous about this because in this day and age I trust no one, LOL. I took the plunge and went through setting it up. I used my old pin and it let me proceed; I was able to go through it without entering any new info by pressing the # key. Everything is the same and I was able to get into my voicemails after that. It's definitely an annoyance but it's safe guys. They also give you the option to get into your voicemails without entering a pin like before. Hope this helps. BevyT

My phone never rings any longer, either. In addition, the last voice mail I got showed it came five days earlier than it came! It's not a problem for me, but understand how it would be for someone who uses the phone in a normal way. I suspect it is strictly a T-Mobile problem, not a phone problem, just like they recently wouldn't allow use of voice mail unless you recorded a message starting with your name. My phone is the Moto G Stylus 5G, which I got on sale direct from Motorola for $200.00. I never buy a phone that costs more than $200 on sale, and never one where I would be stuck with payments or obligated to stay with a service until it's paid off.

I've been having issues with voicemail and cell phone operation in general for quite a few months. I've been on the phone with T-Mobile and went to my local T-Mob store. They were more help that calling ever was but i'm still having issues. Calls go right to voicemail and my phone never rings. People think my phone is off but it's not. They added a physical SIM, turned off the eSIM reset the phone and now voivemail is non-existant and I now have to set it up all over again and I want to use the default message and no pin to access my messages….can't do. So, my solution will be buying a new phone (when this one is paid off) and finding a new service provider due to the fact that T-Mob service has gotten worse instead of better and that goes for their help when calling! My phone is a Samsung 23+, I don't know if the issues are with the phone or the service or a combonation of both. I can't put up with it any longer! Oh, and had a price increase to boot.

1. Set up your password
2. After setup, it will ask if you want to enter it every time or to bypass the password
Name and Greeting
1. Stay silent for your name recording
2. Decline leaving the greeting message
3. Choose to use your name as your greeting
Go back to using automated greeting:
1. Go back to the main voicemail menu
2. Select option 3 for “Create a greeting”
3. Select option 5 to use your phone number as your greeting.
Thanks, that worked for me today. I chatted with a T-Mobile rep online last week who told me it was Motorola, my phone's maker, that controlled how voicemail worked, not T-Mobile!

OKAY! I've read for over an hour. I've had the same outgoing message on my phone for over 3 years. It's perfect and it will never sound that way again, so I've gone 12 days with KNOWING people have left messages but didn't want to chance it. Esto es lo que necesitas hacer:
Go to vm, the auto Lady says she wants to set you up, starting with PIN first. I tried 0122 and she said no that I couldn't have 2 consecutive numbers, so I chose 4 numbers + press #. (all different). Confirmed with pressing 1 when she asked me if all was good. Then she said lets change your name, it takes a second but just wait, you will hear your name the same way that you set it up to begin with, the exact same, she'll ask you if you want to keep it press 1. Then the vm the same thing, she'll Say here's the voicemail that you have and again It takes about 3 long seconds before you hear your outgoing voice. And then she says, do you wanna keep it? Press 1 or make a new one press 2..... Press 1 and ALL IS PERFECT!! I had fourteen messages in which two were really important but I got it to work!! TIFFANY

By doing this did it keep your outgoing message or did you need to record a new one? I have a custom outgoing message that I need to keep for very personal reasons. Thanks in advance.

I called yet again and was told it was due to the global technology outage and then she said it was a security thing that they did. They don't want the pin number to be the same as the last 4 digits of the phone number.
I finally went through the exercise of resetting everything and I only had to change the pin/password, my message was still there. So all good.
I asked her to sent a complaint to whoever that they should have let everyone know.
I guess I'm weary...with the amount of data breaches they've had. I don't wan't The scammers using AI and my voice.

Just another case of tmobile changing because THEY want to. Not because it helps US.
It would be wonderful if I or anybody had a say so, but nope.....thou shalt change because we said so!
Typical tmobile customer service (lack thereof)

This is a known issue but T-Mobile hasn't informed their call center or first level tech support. I just wasted 45 minutes on the phone before the rep found out about the issue. How can T-Mobile not send out texts and emails BEFORE THEY MADE THIS CHANGE?! They have our number!

I received the voice mail reset prompt this evening while trying to access it by pressing 1 on the keypad. I too was leery and reached out to T-Mobile customer service chat. I did not get the help needed but fortunately found this thread.
I could see that Visual Voicemail app was working fine. My saved voicemail messages were still there and when I selected the three bars in the left corner and then selected app settings, I was able to change my PIN # and verify that my Greeting message was unchanged.
Ten minutes later, I called the Voicemail system by dialing 1 on my phone. The system asked me to set up the phone. I entered the PIN I entered in the Visual Voicemail app. After that I carefully followed the steps laid out by Christileilani. It worked!
Thank you to BevyT for your reassurance; to Christileilani for the dial up voicemail instructions; and to Happyday for distinguishing the different actions needed to update both system voicemail and Visual Voicemail app!

This works perfectly! Thank you!
