Why limited access to new gateway device?

Team TMobile, I really would like to know why we are only allowed to barely touch any admin abilities of the gateway system located at http://192.168.12.1. It is a gateway, it is a router, it is a hub, so why not give us some administrative abilities into the backend? Could always hack it….. but really, let up on the tight conto lover basic admin functions and open it up to us already.

Please.

Same here. I have ZERO control using the gateway!

You need to use the TMHI mobile app (Android or iOS) to make any changes to the gateway settings which unfortunately are still minimal in that all you can do with it is create separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

The app includes the ability the add and remove wi-fi networks, and adjust frequency band(s) and encryption settings for each wi-fi network.

If you’re looking for IPv4 port forwarding, that isn’t possible on the T-Mobile network, as 1) the network is IPv6 and 2) the network (not the gateway) prevents unsolicited inbound IP connections.
