Forever Upgrade ending and being replaced with Yearly Upgrade
I got a text message that starting December 7 2023 Forever upgrade is ending and being replaced with Yearly Upgrade. According to the help topics page I'm told I can get a phone on the same deals as the Go5G Next plan without changing my plan. I've been to the T-mobile store and talked to 2 customer service agents and nobody seems to be able to help me. Anybody else having this problem?
Updating my previous post. I found online from another forum that you will get the Go5g Next promotion applied. Go all the way to check out, and once you're at the point to actually checkout, you will see the promotion for a Go5g Next plan applied even without switching to it.
In my case, I got the iPhone 15 Pro and the Go5g Next promotion is $999.99 off when trading an eligible phone. When I got to finally checkout and trading in my device (which only said $350) it actually gave me the $999.99 off promotion. I only had to pay taxes and the $35 activation fee while still staying on my Magenta Max plan.
Hope this helps anyone who had question on how it works.

We are on the Magenta Max 55+ plan and got 2 iPhone 13's in Oct 2021. Like others have stated above, I got the text saying Forever upgrade was ending in December and we now get yearly upgrades. We just finished paying for our 30 mo financing last month and walked into our local T-Mobile yesterday to upgrade. The guy told us that Forever Upgrade doesn't exist anymore and our trade ins are only worth 340.00. We could however sign up for the new go5G next for only 26.00 more a month and then get 830.00 for our phones. We don't want to loose our Magenta Max 55+ plan and we sure don't want to pay more for a new plan. How do we get the upgrade without loosing MM 55+ and get the full trade in amount promised for our iPhone 13?

no worries. for what its worth many out there have never done a lease on anything and its a bit of a learning curve as to how they work..especially at the end.

fireguy,
thanks for the input.

if you have any promos linked to it you might not want to pay it off early. if youre getting any kick backs or discounts over a certain amount of months then that would end as soon as you pay it off and whatever is left of what you were getting credits for you’ll end up having to pay off.

I got the iPhone 15 on the Forever Upgrade program (24 months) in September and I am on the Magenta Max plan. I started paying off my phone early in order to reduce my monthly bill. But, then I get a notice that I am now on the yearly upgrade promo. Now what do I do? Stop paying ahead or completely pay it off before my next upgrade at 12 months? I need to know that if Tmobile does not have to pay off any balance, will my previous trade in credits continue? They only state that they will pay off any balance and the credits will stop at upgrade

I didn’t go far enough either but after reading the above responses I did go further and it said my phone was getting a trade in of $830 but it’s supposed to be $800 and payoff the balance on the phone of $161.
I'll just wait until tomorrow and stop into a store. Hopefully someone at the store i am going to will have the knowledge to help me.

Update from my original post. I went to a store today and they assured me that I would get the correct promotion. When I checked out the correct promotion showed up on one of the final checkout screens, I just didn't go far enough the first time.

I am in the same boat. At first I was not able to get my current balance on the my phones covered/waived, but now I was able to do that online. So it seems there may be on going changes being made. I called today 12/11/23 and still was not able to get any update on getting the same deals as the Go5G Next plan without changing my plan. They only stated my Forever Upgrade promotion ended and I would need to change to a Go5G Next plan to get the Go5G Next deals which is not right according the FAQs in the text message I received about the Forever Upgrade being replaced with Yearly Upgrade. I just told them I will wait for now.

Glad to hear it is not only me, but I am hoping they get this fixed soon though.
