Hi....After calling 4x today (8/14) to reach tech support they've decided that I need aArcadyan TMOG4ARvs my current gateway. Seems like my current gateway won't work in my area (no 5g signal yet) hence the need for this new Arcadyan gateway. Sooo my question is this. I called my local T-mobile store and they have no real clue "if" theArcadyan TMOG4ARwill be available on the 24th. Because my Ooma service is buggy too because of the whole 5g/4g lte signal issue. I have the Nokia 5G21, and it's been more than satisfactory. Usually close to 100 mbps down, and 20-30 mbps up. The biggest complaint has been occasional signal drops.I have a Eero 6 mesh wifi, and I run a double NAT--almost everything runs through the Eero first. On the Nokia there are 12 wifi bands, and I can turn them all off. Lately it's been locking up a few times a dayand I've had to reboot it to get back online. I just got off the phone with T-Mobile and they'll replace it under warrantee. But it sounds like my local store has only the Sagemcom and the Arcadyan. Or I might be able to get a Nokia shipped. My first priority is not to loose any signal strength or quality. Which device is more likely to be able to reproduce the service we currently have? We connect to B66 and n41 bands, and all three devices say they connect to those. But the sagemcom lists many more bands than the Arcadyanor Nokiawhich might be better/stronger than what we're currently getting? Other priorities: Can I turn off the wifi broadcast through the web GUI or app, as I can with the Nokia? Or will either mesh with a dual bandEero 6? Still no bridge mode, right? I see other users posting pictures of the admin console for the Arcadyan internet gateway. But it doesn't show up on mine. All I get is the home "status" page; no option to log in to admin console, no option to modify wifi settings, etc (see screenshot). I've tried doing a factory reset and went through the setup process a second time - still no change. What is going on here? We do not play video games, so we were not concerned with the NAT issues that gamers have, so we thought based on the speeds we were getting with our 5g phones & with 5G tower in the parking lot behind our house we would give TMHI a shot. Our Spectrum rates had shot up again to $70 /mo 500 ultra after 1 year promo, so $50/mo guaranteed for life seemed like a great deal until.… 1) While My Brother has the Nokia we were sent an Arkadyan. Everything went well until less than a week on Service (Christmas Eve) our unit was updated to firmware 1.00.18. With this update we lost all 5g, dropped to b12 from b66 & WiFi devices kept going offline 2)With the Christmas Holiday & Bad weather back east it took a week to get another replacement. We requested the Nokia but was told they only replace like for like & Will only get another Arkadyan. BTW, It took me over 2 hours on hold to get through to HI tech support (which is normal occurence) 3)Less than a week later , this replacement also received update 1.00.18 & too was broken afterwards with same issues as my 1st unit. 4) I am now on my 3rd Arkadyan & it still is on 1.00.16 so back to receiving speeds over 600 down & 100 up on N41 (5g) 5) So here our my other issues with Arkadyan unit : 6) Roku Dual Band Devices can not connect to Arkadyan 5ghz band ssid. They can not see it. According to Roku they need to see channel 161 on 5ghz, so evidently the Arkadyan does not broadcast on channel 161. My Brothers Nokia does & he has no issue with Roku devices connecting on Nokia 5ghz ssid. 7) Even though T-Mobile States that TMHI works with VOIP providers that support IPV6, it evidently will not work with MagicJack which needs SIP ALG turned off & UDP ports 5060-5070 open. With No UPNP or Port Forwarding or Firewall settings & CG-NAT there is no way to get MagicJack to work reliably. It was working flawlessly for 25 days until one day it wasn't. While we have no issues making outgoing calls, inbound caller can not hear us, yet we can hear them. We are not out the Cost of 1 years MagicJack Service ($40) plus the $20 port in fee to transfer number from Spectrum. 8) With us being able to make outbound calls with MagicJack, but not inbound calls, we decided to forward our MagicJack number to a digits talk & text line. We installed the digits on 3 phones. When a call comes in all 3 phones ring. However if phone A answers the phone & it's for Phone B we would like to transfer the call from A to B. The Digits app gives you two options: Transfer call to any other phone number or to Switch the call to another Device with Digits. Neither function works.The call will go on hold, the pop up for the function (transfer call or switch device) freezes, and the call will go into perpetual hold and you will not be able to resume the call. So we can not reliable use Digits to manage incoming calls for the family . 9) We signed up for Ooma yesterday being that it is heavily promoted by T-Mobile, so hoping that it works with no issue. Ooma is going to cost 4x the price ($10/mo & $6/mo taxes) annually over MagicJack!402Visto0likes2ComentariosHome Internet failing
Hi everyone! I have been through hell trying to get the most consistent service using my new home internet setup. I initially hadthe grey cylinder and through some troubleshooting / research / 20+ hours on the phone with fairly useless tech support via the Philipenes,have recently gotten a second line with the Arkadian model. I just set up the new device yesterday and am extremelyfrustrated. The signal keeps dropping althoughit's in a location where it is usually "very good," itwill suddenlydropto "No Signal."Even when it is working, Iam not getting anywhere near the speeds from the grey cylinder + a TP-link wifi router that seemed to boost the signal a good bit.I usually connect directly to the black box with a good ethernet cord - that seems to have been the more reliable route but with this new model, I'm concerned that might overwhelm/overheat it. I've already fried one device so I do have a fan under the unit and am careful to keep it out of direct sunlight, away from routers/other devices,etc.Does anyone know what the best way to connect is - WiFi or Ethernet?My job relies on very consistent and fast upload bitrate so ultimately that is the goal... So far, I've tried everything I couldexcept reaching out here so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask! I'm new to T-mobile home internet and was looking through this forum and the user manual and would appreciate a confirmation that currently on the Arcadyan gateway there isno way to stop wi-fi SSID name broadcast and/or to disable some SSID (like the 2.4 GHz). I was really hoping to turn off wi-fi (or at least hide it so it's not on the list by default)and use a router only.
