Anyone else experience this problem? So I spent the day on the phone trying to get the replacement iPhone 7 plus 128 for a phone that was diagnosed as having a mechanical issue. The phone was replaced last year and I was sent to Apple, as per T-Mobile, for a replacement under the manufacturers warranty. Seems Apple gave me a non-t-mobile phone and T-Mobile was not going to cover it. Gave me several reasons including that it was out of warranty! I have been paying for coverage almost $15 each month! Even told me that the phone is not covered for mechanical failures once the warranty expires. So they are saying that they sold me insurance that is only valid during the manufacturers warranty period. Unreal. They even tried to say Apple should be responsible. How? I am insured with Assurant for this problem. Even Assurant agreed the phone is suppose to be covered but that T-Mobile has directed them to refer issues such as this to T-Mobile for replacement, etc. So finally T-Mobile agreed to replace the phone but now they do not have a iPhone 7 plus with 128 gb storage. So they say, oh we can upgrade you and will give you $350 off an iPhone X and keep the non working brick. Wow, what a deal. I can easily go buy a phone at Costco for the same type of similar deal or go to any other store. So bottom line is T-Mobile and Assurant are pointing at each other and not honoring the coverage agreement which I have been paying for over the last 2 years.. Hello, I purchased a phone and a line from T-Mobile in September 2023. In April, the phone went completely black for no apparent reason. When I returned to the shop, I was informed that because I had paid the total cost upfront (prepaid), I did not qualify for a replacement. A friend suggested I call customer care (611) as shops are mainly interested in selling new devices. When I called customer care, I was told that my phone was covered under a two-year manufacturer's warranty and that I qualified for a replacement. They advised me to return to the shop the next day and said they would coordinate with the shop directly. On my second visit, the representative at the shop was very helpful and called T-Mobile customer care. They confirmed the phone was well-maintained and instructed him to initiate the replacement process. However, it appeared he did not have the necessary privileges in their system to do so, and only the manager could handle it. Unfortunately, they said the manager was not available. I was advised to return the following day when the manager would be present. On the third day, I returned to find the manager was still not there. T-Mobile customer care then informed me that this shop did not have an active manager at the moment and advised me to go to another T-Mobile shop with a manager. On the fourth day, I traveled to another shop. The customer care representative called the manager there, asking for assistance. She requested an email confirmation to authorize the replacement, but after receiving it, she said it wasn't sufficient and refused to proceed. A week later, when I called back, a customer care representative assured me she would process the replacement order from her end. I asked for confirmation or a reference, which she provided immediately, promising I would receive my phone within a week. I was pleased and shared the news with my friends. However, a week later, when I called to follow up, I was told that my request was not in the system. I provided the reference number, but the representative said it was invalid, as it should have had 16 characters instead of 12. She then advised me to contact the manufacturer, not realizing that this had already been done and the manufacturer had confirmed my phone was a T-Mobile device. At this point, I am questioning the legitimacy of T-Mobile customer care. How is it possible to receive a fake replacement order? Why have I been made to travel to T-Mobile shops four times based on false promises? What can I do to resolve this issue? So I'm one of those infrequent phone users and have a prepaid account with an old 3G phone. When 3G goes away (soon), I'm not going to get service. Hopefully I can shrink this into a cohesive question. I am currently in Wichita working a project. I took a fall down stairs and landed on my phone. "I can actually say that Apple saved my butt" My iPhone was shattered and bent. I also fell hard enough to shatter my laptop screen while it was in my backpack… I went to the local T-Mobile store and inquired what my options were. I carry insurance but with work I could not really go without a phone. I talked to an Assurant agent on the phone and had to put the brakes on her real fast. She wanted to flip through her guide and ship me a replacement to my house 1300 miles away. I told her I had to have a phone where I was and would assurant credit me or pay me the value of my phone in lieu of replacement. I got complete silence. Tried to explain the situation again and got I'm sorry and more silence… In the end I had to buy an new iPhone 14 outright and pay an activation fee. Before I call customer service and assurant again, Do you guys think this was the proper outcome or did the local T-Mobile agents or Assurant customer service drop the ball?
