Frequent internet connection drops or interruptions due to low-flying aircraft
When aircraft fly low over residential areas, their presence interferes with wireless signals, including those used for internet connections. This interference disrupts the stability of Wi-Fi connections, leading to dropped connections or slow speeds. I have an excellent connection and have re positioned my Wi-Fi router to a higher location in my home, away from windows or exterior walls facing the direction of the aircraft. However, relying solely on Wi-Fi router signal strength as a guide to a solid connection can be misleading. Despite showing excellent strength, my router often crashes the browser in the middle of inputting important data, resulting in data loss-a real issue. I have experimented with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies to see if one experiences less interference from aircraft than the other, but I have encountered issues with both. Question: I'm curious if anyone has had success by adding shielding materials around their Wi-Fi router to minimize interference? Moving is not the solution; it's a problem with 5G, airlines, and ISPs (internet service providers) that needs to be resolved. When I reported the connectivity problem to T-Mobile, they recognized it as a tower issue and directed my modem to a different tower while the engineers were working on it. It's worth noting that there was no set timeframe for repairs. The issue reappeared at the end of June, and instead of simply experiencing latency, I started to encounter persistent lost connection errors. When I reached out to T-Mobile again to resolve the issue, they informed me that there was no performance problem and offered to replace the modem. Although I accepted the replacement modem, it didn't solve the problem. T-Mobile and other ISPs are in a conflict of interest and have not committed to providing high-quality Internet service to ALL of their customers. While they have active service contracts with major airlines, they neglect their ground customers. T-Mobile and other ISPs that cater to both airlines and ground users have a questionable approach to solving problems, as they fail to offer viable solutions for ground customers. Everyone needs to be aware that airline manufacturers and aviation authorities prioritize safety, taking stringent measures to protect critical aircraft systems and avionics from external interference, including radio frequency signals from 5G networks. Most, if not all, ISPs have failed to consider the impact on their land-based customers, which has resulted in unsatisfied and helpless clients. Who is monitoring the ISP andreal service level issue for the general residents or small businesses? My TMH internet is having internet stability issues caused by aircraft and radio frequency issues. The modem has been replaced, but the occurs on a daily base. I have the same issue with my Samsung S22 mobile phone, hotspot, and home internet. My daughter has the iPhone 13 and has poor service all the time. The phones has issues when it is not in wifi mode. I have identified that the latency/connectivity issues are being caused by air traffic. Three airports and the FAA surround me. It shows I am connected to my services, but it is not working. It also impacts blue tooth devices. Typically, airlines contract in connection servers from a host of local ISP providers worldwide to ensure that antennas are located every place the planes fly over. The reliance on our local service gets first priority along with emergency services. This ground-to-air communication impacts people with patchy wifi performance. No one can tell me what they are doing about it. Maybe it is time to report them to the Public Utilities Commission. "The Engineers are working on is getting old." My first install was 10/21/2021 - TMobile Nokia 5G21 Gateway in Newark, CA. Why - SAVINGS Former Comcast - $ 107 month with monthly rental. (hardwired connection) CURRENT LIMITATIONS: 1). Latency/Ping - This Is My Biggest Issue- should be less than 25ms - In my cases I'm off the charts and can not use on of my VoIP services. See chart below. Additionally, I live in a high aircraft traffice areawhich gets priority. This was an issue with Comcast too. Federal Aviation Adminstation - Air Route Traffice Control Center 1.3 miles Oakland International Airport, 19 Miles San Jose International Airport, 26 Miles San Francisco International Airport, 30 Miles Priority to interphone transmissions puts internet and cell phone user at the bottom of the list. First priority. Emergency messages including essential information on aircraft accidents or suspected accidents. After an actual emergency has passed, give a lower priority to messages relating to that accident. Second priority. Clearances and control instructions. Third priority. Movement and control messages using the following order of preference when possible: - Progress reports. - Departure or arrival reports. - Flight plans. Fourth priority. Movement messages on VFR aircraft. 2)No Port Forwarding - I required 5060:5070 UPD for my systems that currently workssporadically. 3) No option to disable "SIP ALG". This setting could be interfering withmy service (though it is intended to be helpful) and can cause issues such as dropped calls, static, echo, one-way audio (the other caller can't hear you but you can hear them and vice versa), etc. No Lowering the internal firewall on your router/modem. Due to the limitations I added my own ASUS router; however, I'm still have issue so I 'm not sure how long I can suspprt the Tmobile Home Internet service. The newArcadyanmodem still needs a firmware update to address some of the setting issues. I'm having the same issue. MagicJack provide a few recommendations; however, if you have theT-Mobile Home Internet (NOK5G21) you may not be able to change some of the settings. Additionally I cannot confirm if adding a router to change the the setting will work as I am still have these issues myself. Test Your Network Connection (in my casse I am axceeding the ping by 35+)- Errors can be caused by low internet speeds or unstable network connections. We recommend using a broadband-equivalent (or better) connection with a minimum download speed of 5mbps and minimum upload speed of 3mbps. The quality of the magicJack service will be affected by the Latency/Ping, Download Speed, Upload Speed and Packet Loss of the Internet connection. The requirements for magicJack are: Latency/Ping should be less than 25ms Download speed should be greater than 5mbps Upload speed should be greater than 3mpbs Packet Loss should be 0% You may usehttp://speedtest.netto get the Latency/Ping, Download speed and Upload speed. Usehttp://packetlosstest.comto get the Packet Loss. Click on the green "Start Test" button" and then check the "total packet loss" percentage. If your internet speed failed to meet the requirements, we recommend you to contact your internet service provider (ISP) for assistance in fixing the connection issues. 2. Contact Your Internet Service Provider (Tmobile doesn't offer this) or your router: Opening ports 5060 through 5070 on your router/modem Lowering the internal firewall on your router/modem 3. This could be the death of MagicJack. Currently I'm looking for either a ner ISP provider or another type of MagicJack solution. No port forwarding is definitely and issue. I was told to add a router behind the trashcan modem. If your not technical here are so features you might want in your router. Wif 6 - Wi-Fi 6 promises faster performance, better battery life for your mobile devices, and less bandwidth congestion. VLAN - virtual LAN is any broadcast domain that is partitioned and isolated in a computer network at the data link layer. Dual Band or Tri-brand - dual-band routers broadcast two separate signals, tri-band routers broadcast three different signals. Essentially, they're hosting three different Wi-Fi networks at once 802.11ac and Mu-MIMO- 802.11ac is an evolutionary improvement to 802.11n. One of the goals of 802.11ac is to deliver higher levels of performance that are commensurate with Gigabit Ethernet networking: Multi-user, multiple-input, multiple-output technology H.323 and SIP Support - fully supports video and data conferencing. Wired/Wireless QoS - Quality of service (QoS) is the use of mechanisms or technologies that work on a network to control traffic and ensure the performance of critical applications with limited network capacity. It enables organizations to adjust their overall network traffic by prioritizing specific high-performance applications. Today I called T-Mobile Home Internet for the 3rd or 4th time. The T-Mobile trashcan modem lacks UPD port settings features. While they say they are working on the issue they have suggested that I get a router to control the UPD setting. Does anyone have any recommendations?56Visto0likes0Comentarios
