Tmobile phone support dis activated my old phone by mistake

Called about Sim card upgrade for my new iphone 12 and the tech dis activated my iphone 8 and now I have no service on either phone. Why did they not fix this … I still cannot make calls with my old phone. All he was trying to do was to see if the new phone needed a newer sim card.
