Tmobile rebate card doesnt work through Northlane
Hello. I recently switched to tmobile and went through hoops to get my virtual rebate card, and yet the card still does not work. I talked with customer service and ended up ordering a physical card a couple days ago after the "access funds" link didn't work after thats what they had told me to do.
I have yet to receive the card, but now there is a large purchase on it for instacart in California and I live in Minnesota. I reported the incident to Northlane with a screenshot included, but I have to say that this whole process has been an INCREDIBLE hassle to receive the funds I was promised when switching. Y'all need to use a different company because when I googled this issue, I see time and time again that people are unable to use their rebate cards and there is clearly some fraud going on through Northlane, since someone can clearly use the card I'm unable to use.

Here's a follow up on these $200 virtual Mastercard Debit cards issued by Northlane. I called Onbe @ 1(800)439-9568 earlier this morning. The customer service representative assured me that everything was OK with the debit card and it could be used immediately. So the following are the transactions I attempted today:
Shell Gas Station $1 Approved @ 10:07AM
Shell Gas Station $30 Approved @ 12:15PM
VW Dealership $24.73 Declined @ 12:33PM
VW Dealership $24.73 Declined @ 13:04PM
RaceTrac Gas Station $5.00 Declined @ 1:28PM
Shell Gas Station $5.00 Approved @ 1:40PM
Interestingly enough, I called Onbe customer service to discuss the VW dealership declining the 12:33PM transaction. I was told "fraud detection" flagged the transaction at the VW dealership. The procedure required me to wait 30 minutes and then attempt to use the virtual payment method again. Unfortunately, despite confirming with Onbe customer service concerning the validity of this $24.73 transaction, the VW dealership declined the transaction for the 2nd time. So I tried to purchase fuel at 2 additional gas stations. RaceTrac declined $5.00 @ 1:28PM and Shell approved $5.00 @ 1:40PM.
Needless to say there continues to be tremendous frustration in attempted usage and limited approval of these $200 T-Mobile virtual debit cards.Keep in mind that gas stations may sometime push through a large pre-auth charger of $100-$200. Perhaps that it why you're seeing declines. Outside of that….I've got no explanation and the card should work for consumers. I'd be frustrated too!

Well, I had all the same issues and was on hold to talk with someone at tmobile about it, and I decided to get online also during my 30 minute hold.
I found the northlane website: https://login.northlane.com
Once I found the site, I registered, then was able to see my card information. One of the choices was to use AFT payment, which sends the money directly to your bank account!
Hope this helps someone out!

Hi all - a followup on MY attempt to get this bogus "rebate." All the solutions suggested above didn't work, and the point of failure every time was Northlane. Each attempt I made ended with 1) my being told they couldn't validate my account, then 2) with them giving me the card, but logging me out every time I tried to activate it or request a PIN, then finally 3) when I went to transfer the money to my bank that the card wasn't valid and the bank didn't exist.
Rather than waste anymore time on trying to get their stupid ‘virtual debit card’, I contacted T-Mobile thru their Facebook page and continued complaining via PM to their rep until she finally applied the $50 as an ACTUAL REBATE to my T-Mobile account.
Shockingly, this worked. I'm as surprised as anyone, especially considering it was Facebook.
To recap: THE DEBIT CARD IS GARBAGE AND WILL NEVER WORK, SO PM THEM ON FB AND JUST DEMAND THEY REDUCED YOUR NEXT BILL.

I was told in the store it was like any other pre-paid card and that we could use it wherever. Come to find out, the sales rep was lying. When I call T-Mobile, it is essentially a T-Mobile gift card that only works at T-Mobile stores or to pay the bill.
They were able to cancel the card and apply the credit to my account.

** I solved the phone number validation issue!
I do not use T-Mobile for my cell phone - only home internet. I checked the t-mobile internet App > Settings > Gateway Information > MSISDN
The MSISDN looked like a phone number. The first three letters probably correspond to your local area code. So, I tried that number on the northlane rebate activation page (link from the T-mobile rebate email)… and it worked!
So, find the number of your home internet gateway and that is the phone number you need to enter to get your rebate. You're welcome.

It is impossible to find out the balance on my T Mobile rebate card. First it doesn't recognize my password they send a email with password to use when I enter that information its not recognizing my user name. Another email with my user name that is the same one I entered. This website sucks. Not a good look for an internet service.
