Samsung A71 5G Network Issues
So I bought a new samsung a71 5g from the tmobile store almost 2 weeks ago. Love the phone overall but the signal is getting me under 3mbps download and maybe 5mbps upload speeds in places by old phone was pushing 30mbps. Also the wifi calls drop all the time and then data service goes in and out. Here is a photo showing full 4g bars at Ontario airport for example and there is no network connection. Is this a known issue for this model, is there a fix coming? I am about to return the phone to the store honestly.
From what I hear, there are some issues with some of the new 5G phones. Have you tried setting it in 4G/LTE preferred mode? Just to see what happens.

I haven't seen any known issues with the device. I'd check for recent software updates on the phone first. If it's up to date, I'd have our Tech Care team file a ticket to get our engineers to look in to this further.
I got the phone about a month ago and have most updated software on it. The call quality is crap, half of the time during the call the network goes down and the otherside cannot hear anything or neither can I. It randomly drop signals within my house while all other phones within the house still has signal. Still have this issue and it has not been resolved. - D1belo2Roaming Rookie
I just got one of these phones and I was having the same issue I had no reception at all without wifi but I took it in and t mobile guy said he had to change a code or something but it works so much better now actually works now

so I was having the same issues and after reading the commentcomments I returned to the t mobile store and told them I wanted to exchange the phone because it was basically useless without wifi. So I had added a line on a friend's t mobile plan wich happens to a grandfather account. It's been around since like 2012 or 11 anyway the t mobile rep said that he had added a Soc code that they add to all new lines but because the mobile line I added was tied to a different type of data account he needed to take that code off because it wasn't compatible with the phone or the type of account or something anyway he removed the soc code and right way the phone started working properly I still lose service for a few minutes when it's switching from 4g to 5g reception but the phone works now.

FORGET IT . . . T-Mobile does not CARE that the A71 does not work!!! I spent countless hours troubleshooting, getting my phone replaced, having rude and unprofessional store clerks and clueless Customer Care Technicians waste hours and hours of my time. Bottom line, new phone I received is doing the exact same thing the old phone did the minute the T Mobile update was installed.
1 - DO NOT INSTALL T MOBILE UPDATE ON NEW A71 !!!!
YOUR A71 WILL WORK GREAT WITHOUT IT
If you DO Install the T Mobile Update . . . . .
1 - Set Network to LTE\3\2 G and live with it.
2 - Restart the phone often resolves lost network\connection issues.
These are the only 2 things that work. Don't waste your time asking for help, they can not fix this issue and they don't care. They will do nothing for you. Be kind to yourself and accept the fact that we got robbed buying the A71.

There is no solution - I bought into the 5G hype like everyone else. T-Mobile has no intention of assisting you in any way, your wasting your time and life thinking for a minute they do not know full well that they sold us a service and a product that does not work as it was intended or advertised.
If your looking into a beneficial solution, I suggest you Google the pending Class Action lawsuits being filed by many attorneys and law firms across the USA. It's called False Advertisement and breech of contract. They have broken the law by selling you a service attached to a worthless instrument.
If you want to spend your time, looking for a solution to the issue, look up the meaning my last statement. There is value in it and unfortunately, it is the only one your going to find. T Mobile has no intention of fixing anything. They got their money and bill you every month. That is the breath and limit of their interest in their customer. PERIOD.

I found a solution. I returned the phone and it was credited back to my account so I bought an LG Velvet 5g. Went from 0.2mbps to 851 mbps. The problem is within the T-Mobile firmware. The drivers do not allow the phone to receive all 4 channels on the 5g spectrum therefore you are left with a very slow 1 channel antenna in all of the Samsung 5g phones.
¡Éxitos!

I've had the same issue with 5g which continued even when T-Mobile had me set my phone to the 4g/3g. It is that particular phone. I've had no more issues after I went back to the iPhone. My family have different Samsung phones with no issues.

I was having very similar issues to those mentioned above. Drove from Omaha to south of Topeka on Friday. MY A71 dropped connection at least 12 times and did not have any data coverage a majority of the trip. Installed the latest Samsung update dated 8/1 last night. Made the trip back today and there was a dramatic improvement. Had coverage 95% of the way and only 2 drops. I highly recommend installing the Samsung update.
How did you install or trigger the install of the Samsung update?

For the Software Update, go under Settings, Software update. Apparently, it doesn't automatically download these updates, but the description in this update did say that it contained call stability improvements and other stability improvements.

I am in the exact same boat as many of you. This phone is a piece of crap. I reside in the SF Bay Area where there is plenty of good signal and towers. I cannot receive outgoing or incoming calls...it's beyond lame having a completely useless phone. In addition, when I go out and turn off wifi, and rely on the network coverage around me, the phone will rarely pickup 5G and struggles to get back to 4G LTE. I can't even conduct a basic Web search on a browser to look something up. It stalls completely.
I miss calls constantly and individuals will say they tried calling me, only for the phone to go straight to voice-mail. Also, the phone is so finicky that when I try to place outgoing calls, I have to hit the Call button for whomever I'm calling at least 10-12 times.
I've spent countless hours on the phone with TMobile techs giving me their interpretation of what they believe to be the problem. But none of them know and have yet to provide a good remedy.
I've changed out the SIM card and run multiple tests on the phone. As of today, I have a replacement of the same exact crappy phone being delivered to a local tmobile store for pickup.
I have little hope that a new phone will not encounter issues...
