5G SA TMHI?

I was under the impression that 5G SA was coming for T-Mobile home internet but we still aren't there. Anyone know when that might go live? I have the G4AR, it's definitely capable. A little firmware update and I'll be happy.

Depending on what it can aggregate, it might not help much.

N41 SA is great at downloads, but unless you have really good SINR values, you’ll be in the < 20Mbps range upload

In my experience, unless you can aggregate N41 + N25 + N71,  you won't be gaining anything.  LTE B2/B66 will give as much as N25/N71.  N71 being 2x2 MIMO being an issue.

I’m not against having 5G SA (it will come), however, I’d want to ensure that N41 is aggregated with N25 and N71.

  • Yeah I've got N71, N25, and a big chunk of N41 available here and would love to see the G4AR stretch it's legs. I wouldn't mind being a beta tester if they needed one either lol. My phone on SA somehow beats the breaks off my gateway side by side every time. I don't know if they refarmed a bunch of B2 to N25 here or what but the SA is considerably better at my location. The N25 being a 5G SA only band hurts. I guess that is the main reason I want SA on my G4AR.

    Every area is slightly different.

    Here, its 100+40 on N41, 20x20 on N25 (4x4 mimo) and 15x15 N71 (2x2)

Unless these aggregate +1 NR channel, you won’t get much more than 1Gbps.

These currently aggregate at least 1NR + 1LTE.  I can't tell if there are more.  Best speed I've hit with it has been ~650Mbps/90Mbps on the older Arcadyan

20x20 NR25 has 'peaked' at +300Mbps here, while 15x15 at best was ~150Mbps.  Many areas won't give much on n71 anymore, and N25 here is SA only.

    TBH, I’d rather have n66 20x20 than n71 15x15.  4x4 mimo makes a huge difference.
