Ignore what the app shows for the tower and rotate it around slowly to see if you can pick up signal from a different tower. All you have to do is keep an eye on how many bars show up as rotating. I was able to do this and connect to a different tower that the app doesn't even show. It has solved my problem and I haven't dropped the internet since. I wish you luck.
