Galaxy S21 connectivity issues (T mobile)

I bought Samsung galaxy s21 5g from t-mobile. For a year, I had no issues. In the second year, I have been experiencing following issues:

  1. I lose network connectivity randomly. It says "emergency only" calls.

  2. Data connectivity is horrible and spotty. When it connects, a lot of times it is slow. I see 5g will full bars, but sites load slowly or don't load at all. On some other occasions, everything works great.

  3. On many occasions, putting the phone in airplane mode and making it rejoin the network works.

This may have happened after a software update on phone about a year back. All of this happens not only at my home, but also at other places. My wife has Pixel which doesn't have this issue. She also had Samsung Note 10 before this which did not have issues.

I have a feeling this has something to do with s21 on t mob network. What  can be done to solve these issues permanently? I have posted in Samsung Galaxy forum and others with t mob + s21 have experienced similar problems. I have talked to customer care and they were not able to help.

Gracias

We just switched to T-Mobile from AT&T and my husband's 21FE is having the same exact problem. We've already received another new SIM card and it's not making any different. He's very frustrated. I'm hoping someone can figure out what the issue is.

I have an S21, and its been decent.  I have had that issue in the past - software + network ==> 5G UC → No Service → 4G LTE

I’m in an area with good service, so I know that its not the towers, but possibly a software issue on these devices, as its pretty much gone now (at least for me).

  • Hey.. welcome to tmobile.  I am a sprint legacy and since I was forced to switch to tmobil I have a lot of not connection errors, dropped calls. Not connectivity. Etc. I was told many times that it was my simcard.  I explained that it is the signal in the area amd to please provide an antenna. According to them they had the best signal in the city: 5G. I am finding out that it is just a ghost signal amd it truly doesn't work well. This is one of the reasons I don't want to get their cheap home internet.

I don't change to att because service and full coverage is worst amd I will love to use Verizon but it is way overpriced. We are stuck with tmobile.

Good luck trying to find a solution.

  • I brought a S22 ultra last year. I am having the same problems which started last spring. It's not your phone it's Tmoblie's towers. The company wants everyone to upgrade to new phones to fix their new towers. They have abandoned us.  I am leaving next month to Spectrum
