How do I request a tower/coverage?

I've been using Sprint/T-Mobile for many years now and will be moving in the near future. The data speed and coverage over this time has been great, but the area that I will be moving to has a coverage problem. Being in that area first hand and looking on the map I have noticed this issue. The area surrounding where I will be moving has great service 4G LTE & 5G, but for some reason the specific area I will be moving to has no coverage! I've called Customer Support and there was nothing they could do on their end. With this, I was wondering how would I request coverage or a tower for the area we will be moving? I would love to stick with T-Mobile heading into the future as I have had no issues thus far. ¡Gracias!

  • a lot will depend on…

    who actually owns it

who they are putting on the tower..if it isnt TMO then it might be ATT or V..heck they might even be exclusive on that specific tower..

most carriers do not own their towers..theyre basically renting them from whomever owns them.

We just had a new tower built near our community but I can find no avenue to request T-Mobile put antennas on it. I tried the link above, but it is primarily intended for land owners who are inquiring about having a tower on their property. (I submitted an inquiry anyway, but I don't expect a reply.) Calls to T-Mobile have provided zero information.

Any suggestions on a good path for a request of this nature?

  • Yeah. Don't hold your breath on that. T-Mobile is notoriously tone-deaf when it comes to coverage complaints. Even when they know and admit there's a problem, sometimes it just never gets resolved. My advice is to file a coverage complaint and then vote with your feet.

n.b. Most phones can be moved to another carrier once unlocked.

  • Understandable, and I appreciate the response. I am more looking to see how and if this would be a possibility!

  • keep in mind that even if they were going to build a tower to cover that area this would take years in the making to happen.
