Anyone else lied to
I thought I was speaking to a kind and honest service rep when I decided to transfer my internet and mobile services to TMobile.
A week later and I’m finding out I was lied to on two fronts:
I was told that my new phone was being paid for by TMobile but it turns out it was only going to be discounted. The new rep I just spoke to was able to help a bit more but nothing close to what I was originally promised. I didn't need a new phone but thought why should I pass up such a great deal. My second phone I was also not only told the phone was on TMobile but that the remaining balance I owed to the previous provider would be paid for. All told I am now going to be paying about $700 more out of pocket to make this switch which essentially means I won't save a penny the first year of my new subscription so in reality I have completely wasted my time.
I also was never sent the transcript of my chat with the initial sales rep - all I remember is she was located in the Kansas City area - which leads me to believe her “mistakes” were intentional.
I'm considering canceling everything and filing a formal complaint with my states attorney general. I can only hope that the products - 5G internet and the mobile service are at least of a reasonable quality.
