switching from Magenta Max to Go5G getting the same discounts and 3rd line free?
I currently have Magenta Max and have a good deal with the 3rd line free and insider discount. I need a new phone and was going to purchase a new phone from Apple but I see Tmobile has $830 phone with trade in and upgrade to Go5g. I am being told if I switch over that there wont be a change in my monthly bill because they will transfer over the 3rd line for free and the insider discount plus I would be getting the phone for $830 off. It seems to good to be true and I don't want to be stuck in a very expensive plan so I am trying to see if this is true if anyone has experience with it.

You will lose the third line free. The third line free is an old Magenta promo that isn't available anymore. Not even to new Magenta plan subscribers. If you want to keep that third line free. You will want to remain on your Magenta plan.
I just checked the latest promo got Go5G. The third line free mentioned, is for new customers.

The free line will migrate. Free lines generally transfer between most postpaid plans, including when switching from Magenta to Go5G.

The 3rd line free will migrate over! I'm sure of it.

I have the same issue with 3 lines on Magenta Max and want to upgrade my iPhone 14's to iPhone 16's. I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile Magenta Max 2 years ago and also got the insider discount and 3rd line free. However, there was a technical issue when I tried to place my order on-line with T-Mobile (basically it was right when the iPhone 14 pre-order page went live and the T-Mobile web site crashed and wouldn't link to Apple and the only way I could place an order was to call a T-Mobile rep and order everything over the phone). However, I would caution anyone strongly against ordering anything over the phone with a T-Mobile rep as everything the rep promised me on the phone was not what ended up on the bill and had I to fight with T-Mobile for 6 months to get this sorted out (no insider code, bill credits not as promised etc...). My order also included (2) iPhone 14's but they even ended up shipping the wrong phone (this, even after I had the rep repeat back to me the phone they had ordered but I still got the wrong phone). I had this same issues placing an order with Verizon on the phone years ago, which is why I even recorded the phone conversation with the T-Mobile rep (I did disclose this to them at the start of our conversation) but this didn't help as there was no way for me to share the recording with T mobile to confirm what was promised vs what I was given. My wife and I took turns calling T mobile 3 or 4 times a week for 6 months, gradually moving up the food chain to various supervisor(s) before eventually talking to a couple of different supervisors that could actually fix the mistakes and give me what I was promised over the phone when I placed my initial order. This time around, if ordering through the T-Mobile web site is squrrely, I may try going to a local T mobile store. Although there is also a risk of being lied too and being given misinformation at a store, there is always a physical name and a face that you can go back too vs ordering through a call center some place in the Philippines or India where English is not a first language and they will tell you basically anything to get you to place an order and meet their order quota. Safest bet is probably to just wait and order through the T-Mobile website so you have some control over what is ordered and you at least have a paper trail showing what everything is supposed to cost (this assumes that the T mobile website will actually be working as it should when I go to place an order). ¡Buena suerte!
