Multiple times on most days, at no particular time of day, internet access stops working. Devices can still connect to the WiFi network, but there is no internet access on WiFi or wired until the device gets turned off and back on. In rare cases it might work itself out within a matter of hours, for example if I am not home to reboot it. It has been like this the entire time I've had it, and it causes parts of my security system not to work, as well as stops my crypto mining that my PC does when I'm not using it, therefore actively costing me money when I'm not home to babysit the gateway (eg, at work). I really, reallywant to stick with T-Mo but I'll have to sign up with the local cable monopoly if uptime is this bad.19KViews24likes46ComentariosTower upgrades taking weeks to complete?
I started having issues a couple of days ago and when I called they stated that the towers in my area are being upgraded. I asked how long this would take as I had no service for several days. They stated 3 to 4 weeks! How is this acceptable in this day and age for technology upgrades to takes weeks and deny service to customers? I should have said this is a safety issue as I could not reliable make calls and if I had an emergency how could I expect to get help. This is a sad state of affairs T-Mobile.2.9KViews4likes9ComentariosHome Internet - Frequent Disconnects - Possible Fix
I might have found the problem that was causing frequent disconnects (happened multiple times a day) for the last couple of weeks. The disconnect would require a reboot to get the internet working again. I'm hoping that others having this issue would be willing to give this a try and see if it helps with their issue as well. A Fan! I believe that my issue is that my gateway is overheating. After placing a fan blowing directly on it this morning, I haven't had a single issue with connectivity all day. If you're having this same problem, please trying cooling off your gateway and report back whether your issues have gone away or stayed the same. I hope this finds everyone with this problem and will lead to a proper fix.29KViews3likes28ComentariosNew here! Here is your fix for connection issues and thermal throttling!
I have posted in some other threads on what to do to fix it. Please update your firmware by factory resetting it before attempting the below. But the firmware was just one part of the issue. It's the temps and wifi interference that's causing it all . Multiple YouTube vids proving my hypothesis. Here is the short version. 1.Buy a fan 120mm with usb-C connector from Amazon $15 that has pads on bottom. Also a can of PC parts duster. 2.Unplug modem. 3.Flip modem over and take screws out. 4.Take out sim. 5. Remove battery from modem(keep it just in case u need to send back). 6. Put back together and sim in it. Plug in. 7. Place on top of fan with air blowing through and out the top.Fan plugs into usb-C port. 8. Turn off internal wifi said and get an external Wi-Fi 6 mesh system. This is a process that takes a few minutes. There are like 12 SSIDs to turn off. Why they are all broadcasting by default is beyond me.(If you have multiple users it causes it to thermal throttle and the built in wifi router causes massive interference problems .) I suggest TpLink Deco, Tenda, or anything Netgear Nighthawk mesh. Google wifi eero(yuck) ECT. 9. Enjoy your internet worry free . Dust it once a week or so to keep it clean. I'm here to help anytime. Please reach out if you need help. I will be modding my 5G router for external antennas to get the most out of it but the above fixes 99% of users issues . Mesh network if you don't own one is about $80 to $300 depends on what you wanna spend . Fan is $15 Yes it will take some time but the built in wifi router (not their great 5g modem inside) is just not great. It overheats with a load on it, as does the modem which thermal throttles. The above should remedy MOST people's issues and if it still doesn't work, replace the battery, and send it back ! Hope this helps y'all! Hit me up if you need help or was as frustrated as myself with no real help out there !1.6KViews2likes8Comentarios5G home internet - interruption of connection -support was contacted
We started our 5g home internet with T-Mobile about 6 months ago, it was working fantastic for about 4 of those months. Last month near the very beginning we started having an issue where all of our devices are connected to the modem, but no internet connection is available, the only fix we have is to unplug and restart the modem. We called support yesterday, they told us about the new 2022 modems and that many customers have been calling in with this issue. After getting our new modem yesterday we still have the same issue every 30 mins a break in our internet connection begins and we need to re-start our modem. I called support again this morning to which they again said many customers are having this same issue. When I heared that a bell went off, "T-Mobile has a massive server or processing error with all of these modems, not just the old one we were dealing with." They proceeded with the basic turning the router off and powering it back on, the support told me he was doing some sort of trouble shooting (to which he was supposed to send a list of troubleshoots to use if it were to continue, he never did) I got a call about 20 mins after to make sure my internet was still working, I told them yes and that it hadn't even been long enough for us to have the issue again, they were happy with that and gladly wished me a good rest of my day. I am so beyond frustrated with T-Mobile right now, they honestly should be giving customers a refund of last months billing cycle and get this sorted for all the hoops we have to go through in order to even have a half hour of this so called premier coverage of 5g home internet, it's really feeling like a bad joke and customers are just supposed to deal with it.377Visto2likes3Comentariosipads not connecting to home internet
I have a 2nd gen and a bit later (2012?) Ipad that have been working fine when connects via WiFi to at&t. However, 2 weeks ago I moved and set up T-Mobile home internet. All my other devices have connected with no issue. A 2013 MacBook Air connected with no issue. The iPads are unable to connect, despite resetting network settings, unplugging modem, etc. The passwords are for sure correct and the devices are able to connect to public networks so not a wholesale WiFi issue on their end. I appreciate any suggestions.Solved12KViews2likes14Comentarioswidespread power outage resuting in spotty cell tower connection
We have had a wide spread power outage here that caused the cell tower we connect to be very spotty with almost no internet for our phones and almost none for our T-Mobile Gateway. That was understandable since the cell tower was also not getting power. Now that the power has returned, we are getting internet with a weak gateway connection when before the outage, we were getting a very good connection. Mostly, I would hope that I can get a message out that the tower needs a maintenance check up.326Visto1like3ComentariosDevices not connecting and internet is spotty
So I switched to T-Mobile internet and the strength shows it great. I work from home and I keep getting signed out if my VPN, which never happened prior to switching. I also cannot connect my Alexa Echo Show or my daughters tablet. Any advice or thoughts on what's going on?128Visto1like0ComentariosNew Phone not Connecting to T-mobile Network
Hello, I bought a new phone, the Kyocera 702KC. It is fully unlocked and when I popped my SIM in, it gave me a bar and I attempted to make a call, in the middle of the ringing, I got disconnected and can not join T-mobile again. I was told to set-up APN, but I do not know what to type in. When I go to network setting, and click on T-mobile, it says "can't connect to this network right now, try again later"Solved1.9KViews1like13ComentariosPixel 6 Pro doesnt work on 5G UC
Anyone have any ideas? I can't call or text on 5G UC. It's shows signal and on network but nothing works. I had to disable 5G and reboot my phone to get it to work.
