international wifi calling

I am trying to understand this. i was on an international call for over 3 hours. I thought since it was a WiFi call I would not get charged expensive international rates. After my call, I received a text that my call cost me $636.00.. That's $3 a minute charge. I think that is kind of outrageous for a WiFi call. Is this standard in the industry? I just want to understand this practice. if they call me do I getcharged the same or is it free because I am the one who answered the call? Help me understand how this all works to see if I need to pursue other avenues to communicate with friends abroad I have made over the years. Thank you for your time.40KViews1like13ComentariosTarifas internacionales usando Llamadas Wi-Fi
Hi, I'm very confused about the international rates when making a WiFi call to a number overseas on a T-Mobile One plan. According to the support page, which I have read a thousand times, wifi calls are billed at 0.20$ per minute to most countries. But I've been now billed over $200 (over 3.00$ per minute) for one call to a Netherlands mobile and a second call to a Switzerland landline. How is this possible? If the policy on the website is incorrect, it should be fixed. I would also ask to be reimbursed for these two calls as the policy was misleading (I would have called from another phone had I not already read the policy and been assured the rate would be 0.20$ per minute. text and link below: l If you have a T-Mobile ONE or Simple Choice rate plan: From any Simple Global country to any other country are $0.20/min (same as cellular). From non-Simple Global countries to other countries are charged at World Class rates. Wi-Fi Calling How do I get this resolved? The customer care people I've spoken to can't figure out what I'm talking about. LauraSolved31KViews0likes28ComentariosTravel to Colombia
Hello, I am spending one month in Colombia and want to make sure I have the best plan with T-Mobile. I currently have the One Plan. Does the One Plan include UnlimitedCalling and Messages to and from my phone while in Colombia without additional fees? Does it provide internet service without additional fees? Do I need to use wifi calling? If not, which plan would be better for me? ¡Gracias!25KViews0likes1ComentarioUnlimited free calls on 15GB/30 Days International Data Pass and Wi-Fi Calling
I was told by a retail sales rep at a T-Mobile retail store today that unlimited free calls to/from/within Simple Global countries on International Data Pass only works on Wi-Fi Calling and that without Wi-Fi calling the charges for each call is $.25/minute (Magenta plan). This does not seem right as this would mean locals calls made within a Simple Global country would result in an international call originating from the U.S. Instead of being a free call, I believe, this would result in a $3.00/minute call. Do we really need to turn on Wi-Fi Calling while on International Data Pass? I am planning a trip to Japan and don't want any surprise billing when I return from the trip. Would appreciate any comment from people that have used this service.Solved10KViews0likes20ComentariosWifi calling while outside of US
Super frustrated with this… We are in Japan now. (Have US phone numbers)My kid made some calls to US via Wi-Fi calls (which is stated in our billing) and received some calls from US (also says Wi-Fi calls on the billing) I chatted someone at customer service for over an hour and she said we will be charged for this. (25c/min) (for both incoming calls and going calls) but more I read up on it, I should not get charged when using Wi-Fi calls between two US phone numbers. Am I wrong? please advise me if you have had the same experience. we have One plan with unlimited calls. thank you.Solved9.9KViews0likes10ComentariosIncoming calls while abroad
I am going to India, but will need my mobile number to receive calls from the USA. I have a couple of questions - Will the person calling from the USA be able to call me normally, and will he/she be charged extra for the call? If I receive the call, what would I be charged? If I keep my phone on airplane mode and connect to wifi, will wifi calling work (wifi calling is free as far as I understand)? I am on the ONE plan (family plan) without any add-ons as of now.6.4KViews1like3ComentariosHelp! Unable to make phone calls while abroad
I have had the same Simple Choice plan withT-Mobile for many years, and have never had any issues with making international calls when abroad (over wifi or otherwise). I am currently in Cyprus for several months (where I have been before, and, again, never had any issues) and suddenly I am unable to make and receive phone calls. Texts are working. The calls seem to go through, but both parties are unable to hear anything. I have turned on data roaming, I have enabled wifi calling, and I have attempted to call the international t-mobile support number, but even this call does not go through. Suggestions for how to fix this? Ideas for how to get a hold of someone at t-mobile to troubleshoot? Thank you in advance!Solved661Visto0likes3ComentariosTraveling to Japan and do not want incoming calls costing me $.25
I Know I get Free international data,Text and VOIP calls are free with my Max55+ plan. I was told and have also read in the simple global terms that any incoming calls VIA cellular or WiFiwill be charged $.25 a minute even if I do not answer it's a given $.25 charge.I enabled, "Block Content Downloads","Spam Blocker" and "Charged international roaming" in my account is this pretty much all I need to do and still be able to have Data,Text and make VOIP calls on Line,Whats App and FaceTime?
