trade in problem
28 TopicsHow to package old phone for trade-in
TLDR; when trading in your phone through the mail, are you supposed to receive a trade-in kit in the mail seperatelyto sendyour old phone in? Or do you have to go in the store and ask them to do it for you? So I'm supposed to send in my old phone as part of the trade-in process, and I'm confused on how to send them my old phone? I've received the new phone...and when I made the arrangements in store they said I should receive a separate box to mail in my old phone with all the information on how to do it inside, butI've yet toreceiveit, and it's been about 5 days since the order was made, 3 days since having the phone they sent me. I looked at the shipping label on my order status and I scanned the code to either schedule a pick up or go to the post office- If I go to the post office will they package it for me? Is it similar to like an Amazon return or do I have to package it myself? I honestly feel like the answeris so simple and for some reason it'sjust going rightover my head.Should I maybe just use the package it came in and smack the pre-paid shipping label on top of the old one and send it in??? Muchconfusion. Need halp. Verythanks!19KViews0likes3Comentariosiphone 11 trade in
I was told at T Mobile that I could receive $800 for my iPhone 11 which would go towards my bill for the iphone 13 pro max. The bill is originally $36 for 30 months before the credit. They printed the labels & told me that I needed to send it in. When I get home I see that the label said customer accepted value$180. Which is very untrue. No price other than $800 was discussed if I knew it was only worth $180 I wouldn't of accepted the phone.Did this happen to you? If so were you able to return whatever phone you accepted & get out of contract? Or complain & get more than what was on your label.12KViews1like6ComentariosTrade in Issues
I got the iPhone 12 pro Max and traded in my iPhone X for the $830 promo. I mailed my device on November 24th, walked into the post office and got a receipt for proof I dropped it off.I got the return label directly from a T-mobile store since I couldn't print it at home. I kept the customer copy as well. It's being shipped to Assurant in Texas but my tracking number hasn't been updated since December 2nd. It was supposed to arrive Nov. 30th but got pushed back due to holidays I'm assuming. It needs to be returned by December 20th so now I'm getting paranoid. I'm calling them tomorrow and asking if it would still be honored even if the package got lost. It's not my fault since I did everything correctly. Also all the links on the T-mobile website and app are useless! They just take me to the log in and that's it. So frustrating! I wouldn't have switched over if I knew they're this unorganized. anyone have any similar experiences? I can't open a claim with the USPS since I don't know the exact address it's getting shipped to. My fault for not taking a picture of the label. I just know it's the Assurant in Lewisville, TX 75057.Solved8.4KViews2likes16ComentariosTmobile lost my trade in and is not honoring trade credit. What can I do?
I shipped the trade in to T-Mobile, the tracking says it was delivered. I called them to ask about my trade in credit and they said they never received the phone. I provided them the tracking number and the email saying how much my trade in was approved for. They are now only offering me $80 from what was supposed to be $380. What are my options here? I've been a T-Mobile customer for a very long time with 6 lines and multiple new phones on payment plans.4.3KViews3likes17ComentariosTrade-in rejected - PSA
I learned something today that I thought might help others.… A couple months back, my two daughters traded their phones in for iPhone 13's. We did this order online. They each mailed their phones in as directed. One was good, the other was rejected. It took about 2 hours on the phone, but the repended up giving me the trade-in rebate. I mean...at that point the phone is gone. Seems a little helpless, but it worked out. Fast forward to the iPhone 14…I ordered 2 phones on the first day and they came today. I setup the new phones and decided to take them in to the store instead of mailing them (it has to be a REAL t-mobile store). She told me the devices doesn't match and I couldn't do the trade-in. Something didn't add up and I refused to just walk out. So here's the deal.… The phone I was trading in was an iPhone 12 Pro Max. This phone supports 2 SIM's. The physical SIM card is labeled IMEI and the eSIM is IMEI2. Here's the key - my t-mobile service was using the eSIM on this phone…..so the number that registered with the t-mobile network was IMEI2. However, the rep at the store (and they do the same thing when you mail in the phones) is just checking the IMEI. So it's true...t-mobile had the IMEI2 store on their network and the rep was checking the other value - no match. Thinking back, it makes sense with what happened on the iPhone 13's. One daughter was using a physical SIM and her phone trade-indidn't have any issues. The phone that was using the eSIM is the one that was rejected. T-Mobile needs to train their staff to check both IMEI numbers from the phone! They will continue to reject trade-in's for this reason. These folks were clueless...to them, it simply didn't match so they were like 'please leave our store'. I had to figure this out on my own. Part of the reason this is hard for them is because when you bring the phone in, it should be reset. When you have a factory reset phone, you can hit the information button on the screen when you first power it on and it will tell you some basic information about the one. One of the details is the IMEI. BUT…..it only list the one IMEI, not both. This is what they are using to validate your trade-in. In order to see the other IMEI you have to go through the setup and get to the iPhone Settings →General →About. This is where you see both IMEI numbers.2.5KViews0likes6ComentariosTrade-in question
We switch to T-Mobile yesterday. One of our phones has a cracked back but there is NO water damage and the phone works perfectly well. We were told in the store thisphone would be accepted as a trade-in for anew phonebecause, and I quote, "that is T-Mobile's policy". So we all got the Apple IPhone 12 promotion ($830 off over 24 months with a trade-in) except for one of our lines - he got the SE so 100% off over 24 months with NO trade-in so we just traded his in for a bill credit. Apparently we should not have done this because…... We weretold sincewe were sending her phone directly to her at college, it would be easier to just order it ourselves. So, last night, I was chatting with someone onlinehaving her place my order, very nice lady named Bea. But she told me wecould not trade in the phone because of the crack - therefore not getting the same Apple iPhone 12 promotion. So now basically, we are out quite a bit of money. Were we told incorrect info in the store? Was I told incorrect info in the chat about it not being accepted? Is there anything I can do now??? I haven't placed the order yet...Solved2.2KViews0likes1ComentarioT-mobile lost my trade in, warehouse never scam my device. They refused to do anything
We sent in 4 device for trade-in. All device were shown received by warehouse. 3 device got scanned in and credit it. 1 device never got scan and T-mobile refused to do anything. They keep calling and asking for help because they couldn't find my device. Their respond was that our warehouse didn't scan your device, there is nothing that can be done if we did not scan your device. They won't allow this to escalate or lost or stolen device. My tracking shows clearly it was delivered the same way my other 3 device were trade-in. They do not suggest it was lost or stolen because they claim they have the safety security camera in place. I have been dealing with them for over 3 months now and they just wouldn't have an answer for me. I see so many post about this same issue but yet their respond was " we do not lose device when it gets sent to our warehouse". I find it unreal that there is no check and balance system. Share your experience with me because I have seen many others and lately is getting worst.1.7KViews3likes17Comentariostraded in phone missing - Tmobile doesn't provided device recovery credit after THEY LOST the device
This is getting extremely frustrating. I upgraded all of my 4 phone lines to new iphones back in December 2021. For each phone I traded in an older iphone for which I was supposed to get a device recovery credit. However, for one of the phones I have still not received the promised credit of $130 after 4+ months. All phones were mailed to "Assurant" using the provided labels. The were all received there according to tracking. And for 3 phones they were "assessed" and the credit was applied to my account the same day they received it. Just this one phone shows "received" in T-Mobile's order history but does not show "assessed". Over the past few months I have spent numerous hours on the phone and in online chat to resolve this. Every time I have to explain this again to a different person who then usually tries to convince me that I already got the credit because they see the credits for the other phones. 2 weeks ago I was finally able to get them to open an inquiry just to get a call today being told they cannot help me and I should contact Assurant. What? I gave that a try too but of courseAssurant says this is handled by TMobile LOL What a joke.1.1KViews0likes2ComentariosCan't return trade-in device at any T-Mobile store - system shows error
I got switched to T-Mobile with three lines and home internet.I upgraded two phones by trading in existing devices. I did it in-store at Transit, Depew. The staff was accommodating. One of the trade-ins was done without any issues. They gave me the new phone and kept the old one. For the second line, they did not have iPhone 14 Max Pro. So, they ordered it and asked me to go in once I received the device as it was shipped to my home. They call it deferred trade-in. I got the new iPhone 14 Max Pro on Tuesday (Oct 24th). I went to the same store right away. They set up the new phone and tried to trade in the old phone (iPhone 11). However, once they input all the information, the system throws an error. So, they tried doing that on a new tablet and got the same error. They told me to go back another day. So I went back the next day (Oct 25th). They still couldn't go past that error. So, they told me that I could try another store or come back later. They said sometimes it takes 2-3 business days for the system to reset. I called up 611 before going to the store, and the agent said my account was fine and I should be able to return the old device. Anyway, I decided to try a different store on Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst, the next day (Oct 26th). They received the same error and asked me to go back later. I called 611 again today (Oct 27th), and they said the system should be okay and I should be able to return the phone. So, I went back to the store onNiagara Falls Blvd, Amherst. They received the same error again and asked me to go back later. Has anyone faced a similar problem? The thing is, I know I can return the old phone through USPS, but T-Mobile mentions Assurant/T-Mobile will not be responsible if the phone is lost or damaged! A few people I know faced significant challenges returning devices through Assurant. I wasplanning to upgrade the 3rd line, but the above experience is stopping me from doing that. Would anyone be able to give me a way forward? I feel ifI can't return the old phone at the T-Mobile store, the company should be responsible for shipping. Any suggestions?836Visto0likes1ComentarioTrade-in valuation not fully paid by TMobile
I was given a valuation for my Z Fold3 for $500 and I accepted. So I traded for the Z Fold4, sent in my old one, and that's it - it should all be done and setup. They only gave me $385 credit on my bill and didn't give me the full $500. When I was texting with their support through theirchat, she led me to believe that the rest of it would be credited on the next billing cycle. Can anyone confirm that this is true?Solved801Visto0likes2Comentarios
