Owner LOCK uNLOCK

ACTIVATION LOCK…… we went to the apple store because our phones were disabled due to the number of failed attempts at remembering the passcode. Both phones were wiped clean, unlocked, and reset. I left and when i tried to set up the phones, they only got so far and then gave a message that i could not continue without contacting original owners (Us) to get passcode from over 7 years ago when our icloud account was initially created. Beings i have no clue on the original passcodes, is there a way to unlock the phones?
