2 routers in one house

The two routers may be broadcasting on the same channels. Unfortunately, the TM gateway does not offer the ability to select specific channels. You might try re-booting your router while your roommate's is on and it may auto-select a better channel to use. Alternatively, your roommate's router may have more options for channel selection...you could try selecting channels manually on that router so they don't interfere. In case you don't know, you can determine what channels your routers are broadcasting on using a "WiFI analyzer" app on your phone.
