TMO-G4-AR Gateway Issues

Recently upgraded to new G4-AR Gateway thinking with external antenna capability my 5G service would improve.
Installed my WAVEFORM Mini Quad 4 x 4 Omni and Fired T-Mobile up.
sizzle… Fizzle. 2 BARS MAX. NO CHANGE…

Day 4 STILL SEARCHING NO ANSWERS.

Several hours on phone with tech support team from another country speaking broken english my frustration mounts.
I'm aware this hardware is new but T-MOBILE NEEDS TO OFFER BETTER SUPPORT US "TESTERS". We're WILLING TO JUMP IN BUT WHERE ARE THE LIFELINES TO QUALIFIED Technicians?

Software issues:

  • Internet line number does not display
  • QR screen only opens lower 1/3 of page
  • Signal Drops connection

Hardware Issues:

•.  EXTREMELY SMALL WORK      AREA TO INSTALL ANTENNA CABLE LINES

        •   Ethernet Cables, Power Cable, SIM CARD MUST BE INSTALLED BEFORE Antenna Ports.

        ••• MAIN-COMPLAINT•••
Support Techs need more training on NEW EQUIPMENT

I have a quad mini 4x4 and G4/AR gateway.  In general, you won't see 'much' of an upgrade (ensure that you have set your G4/AR to use external antenna) especially if you make sure that your 'external' is set to be used.

In general, I don't see much of a gain with the quad mini indoors (as is claimed from Waveform).  If you put your antenna in a better place (outdoors, attic, etc) you will see some improvement.  The quad-mini is not much better (IMHO) than the internal antenna for performance outside of having an extension.  For hardware - follow NaterTater - they sell 90 degree connectors which are easier to work with for this reason.  This is a 'vendor' issue.

If you're looking for better performance - you may be able to exchange for the Quad Pro on Log based antenna which is directional.  Also - Waveform themselves support their antenna.

  • I have a G4AR . I had a problem with the Sagecom model connecting to my waveform external antennas at all.

BUT, the last 5 days my signal has gone to complete crap. Think it's just something they changed at their end as my Phone connection is just as bad now on newer phone.

Going to pick a sagecom replacement today to see if it’s model related.
Kind of ready to dump Tmobile.

My Wife’s A TT phone gets 112mbps and 12.1 up literally about triple what I get from T-Mobile
