I have unlimited data, magenta max unlimited plan..

But it's limiting only my son's line and not letting him use mobile data of any kind…

Does anyone have any idea why this could be? 

...we have and use wifi a majority of the time...so even if we had limited data...we wouldn't need to use it often...

    This can get technical, but T-Mobile uses SOC (Service Order Codes) that specifies the features available on each line.  There are instances where the unlimited data SOC has been removed from a particular line, while other lines in the plan work fine.

    Had this issue the other day. I went to a local store. The manager tried a lot of things including switching SIM cards, but the same thing happened.

    He called tech support and they solved it. Call, Text and Data each have a SOC number that is a unique ID number for that service. The SOC number for my Data no longer existed for some reason. The techie reset it and said wait a couple of hours for it to come back, and it did.

    That's probably what happened to you, so go to a local T-Mobile store and report what happened.

     

    I had this happening and it turns out that the data soc wasnt on my line. Once they added it back, it hadn't happened once.

     

    I'be been having the same issue and it's possible I found a fix for myself.

    It talks about how on the manage add-ons page the phone line with the data issues doesn't have a plan selected in the list of plans. My phone line did not have a plan selected, but the other lines on my phone plan did have a plan selected. So I selected the proper plan and then hit continue and then hopefully that fixed it.

    My next step was going into the store....I can't get ahold of anyone on the phone. 

    I checked my plan, and all 4 of my lines have the exact same plan allowances checked, even unchecked and rechecked lol. 

    And since he's over his "unlimited" data limit, it keeps putting his phone in airplane mode…
