5g home internet
27 Topicsadding VPN software to newest white 5G T-Mobile Router
Greetings all I'm wondering if it's possible to add VPN software to the newest white 5G router itself to protect my entire network? I'm wanting to do this that particular way instead of trying to add VPNs to all my devices instead while still having my main devices covered yet not able to have my home security devices unprotected. Adding a VPN to the router would allow for full coverage of everything to include my home security devices. Then i would only need to make adjustments to one VPN point once instead of everything separately. If it's somehow not available who do i contact to request this feature? I'm not opposed to upgrading to a business plan if it's available that way. The whole point would be adding security. That would be a key selling point in the future, T-Mobile. I'm not wanting to make any adjustments to the router itself. I'm wanting to add software that would interface AFTER any functions of the router. Hope this makes sense to anyone reading this as it's standard functions for aftermarket routers.66Visto0likes0ComentariosAnyConnect VPN has become too slow as of Sep 2024
I use Tmobile 5G internet and my AnyConnect VPN speeds were adequate until Sep 2024! The VPN speeds are now at best about 4 mbits/sec for download and about 6 mbit/sec upload, which is way too slow. The nominal speed, without VPN, for myTmobile 5G internet, is more than 300 mbits/sec download speeds. What has changed and how do I resolve this?75Visto0likes0ComentariosAre there fees for removal of my 5G Internet line?
I am moving where I will have access to free Wi-Fi and I will no longer need my T-Mobile internet service and gateway. What will be the consequences of removing the line? I will keep my phone line and obviously continue to pay off my phone and Bluetooth Pill. Thank You.Solved89Visto1like4ComentariosUnexplained Skyrocket of 5G Home Internet Usage
I called T-Mobile support about this, but they really didn't have any answers for me, so wanted to see if anyone else had experienced anything like this. My TM 5G Home Internet usage skyrocketed without any change in our household's usage behavior during this current billing cycle (May 2023). We have the Nokia 5G21 Gateway. In March we used 66.55 GB, April was 9.23 GB and May is 417.31 GB. I've checked all the devices connected to our home network and have been able to identify them all, so I don't think anyone is tapping into our network. We aren't experiencing any decrease in speeds or dropping of the network, so maybe I don't have any reason to be concern, the jump in data usage was just alarming, since we only really web browse, stream video and connect smart home devices. We don't do anything that would send massive data outwards, either. A few things I noticed in my usage reports over the last few months was the number of reports jumping from 8 in March and 1 in April to over 3,000 in May. Also, the previous reports showed as "Mobile Internet," whereas May's report shows all as "Internet Access." So those were both odd.669Visto0likes6ComentariosLost 5G connection (14th Ave & Taravel St)
Hi all, I live in San Francisco near the 14th Ave and Taraval St 5G tower. As of several days my TMHI router is no longer connecting to 5G. It keeps LTE only. Wonder if you happen to know what I can do? Called support but they keep saying their system says everything is working fine. Gracias31Visto0likes0ComentariosT Home Internet Bad to Worse, now Gone
I've been with TMobile 15 years. Got Home Internet as soon as available.in my area. Not rural, but not urban here either. CSupport told me I can possibly connect to 4 towers with 5g from my location. My speeds have never been over 30 MPs, but ditching my cable company was huge, so I've suffered along. Speeds went down to 10 MPs last week and a ticket was filed. Back story… 3 months ago I had connection issues. But WOW! I was connecting to N41 band 5g and speeds over 100 MPs! Thus is it I thought. Well that connection was never stable. Dropped out every 15 min. Back to TM CService and got stability, @ 20-30 MPs back in the N71 band. It's coming...it's coming I kept telling myself. OK back to last week… CS explaining my slow speeds… this AM I had speeds below 6mps. I work from home. Can't connect to company servers… 2 hr. With CS. Just got a call back. T-M is no longer going to support Home Internet on 5g with thetowers I have been connecting to for the last 6 months! No notice no nothing. An entire work day plus time to get a new provider. My boss is "thrilled". Unacceptable service from the company I've reccomended to friend for years BECAUSE of customer service. It's been fun TMobile… hope you get your act togther. I'll be hoping I don't get the same person at the cable company I flameswhen I cancelled….360Visto0likes5ComentariosN71 5g band FULL BARS fast download and upload and low latency, but this....
I monitor my connections in real time. The 5g band of N71 running at the lower frequency is super great, full signal bars and gives me superb performance. The LTE band will change in an ongoing loop of LTE B2 connecting instantly to 5G N71, then dropping N71 and going to LTE B66 and reconnecting instantly to 5G N71, then dropping my 5G N71 band to allow LTE B71 while searching for a different 5G signal than 5G N71, then cycling back to LTE B2 and instant 5G N71 connection and continuing this loop of cutting my 5G service which does not need disconnected from as it is near perfect and FULL signal. B71 has the same full signal strength as the 5G N71 yet upon either the tower or the gateway or both <according to tech support I just got off the phone with>, the powers that be will not allow my GREAT N71 connection to stay connected at all times. She could not provide me the answer as to why this happens and why I cannot stay on a working 5G signal that is great. Upon asking if I got my own gateway and committed the band selection to stay on N71 if the signal would hold at all times. She said it would be something to test as she does not know and informed me there is no higher level of tech support or anyone in the whole company that could help with this and explain why this is going on. Someone does have control of this in Tmobile somewhere. How come I cannot get my internet 5g to stay connected to the 5G band of N71 as no other 5G bands will connect at all when I am receiving a FULL Strength signal of the lower frequency 5G band N71 when it goes through this cycle loop, causing severe latency issues and hindering me from staying connected to a 5G signal which is working flawlessly as I do pay my bill and should be able to stay on a near perfect 5G signal on band N71? I lose my perfectly working 5G internet due to the releasing of the signal as either the tower, gateway or BOTH are working against this.Support can offer NO ANSWER at all….who do I talk to so that I can get the service I pay for and is proven to be working flawlessly when the service provided by TMOBILE is being completely DUMB sand STUPid for a lack of better words? I pay for 5G please let me use the signal that is in my house coming to my gateway at the best connection I have ever had in my residence on the N71 5G band. My internet is advertised as Tmobile 5G home internet, says it on the bill. Am I not being denied the service I pay for? for whatever reason? 5G band N71 works flawlessly and the technology they are using or the code which is running the tower and/or gateway is denying me of great 5G internet and Tmobile is not providing the working 5G N71 signal to do the job I am paying them for. I have been having HORRIBLE service on 5G small business internet (same as 5g home). Latency is 3451 when using speedof.me and speedtest.net hardly ever loads at all. I am on my 3RD device and tonight I called for the 8th time and this time they said it is "local site issues". Apparently all towers in San Diego or at least all towers near me, are being upgraded/have site issues. I will get 140mbps and then 21mbps. Sometimes at night it is 2.8mbps. UGHH. Why can't they work on one tower at a time lol. Basically I am going to jump ship to a different 5G provider OR back to cable if it isn't corrected soon. I can't run a business like this. ANYONE have a fix/temp suggestion?70Visto0likes1ComentarioT-Mobile limits number of 5g gateways
I'm a long-time T-Mobile customer and had 3 5g gateways on my account at 3 separate locations earlier in 2023. We sold a home and turned in one of the gateways (now we have only 2). I recent tried to add a 3rd gateway at another location and T-Mobile will not allow -- says 2 is the limit! Change of policy which makes no sense to me. Anyway, has anyone else had this issue? I solved it by getting a Verizon 5g gateway at exactly the same cost --- and based on this fiasco and waste of my time, I'm considering changing all my service to Verizon. Again, any comments from T-Mobile users appreciated.140Visto0likes0ComentariosT-Mobile Internet App Buggy
