group messages
12 TopicsSMS group text as individual messages and replys only to me
New Samsung 21 5 phone - trying to make it work like my Sansung S10. I have groups setup that i want to keep private. When i send a message to the group i want a text to send to each recipient - not a group text. i don't want others to see who is getting the same text message. I was able to do this on my S10 but it doesn't seem to work on my S21. I have turned off 'group conversation' in multimedia settings and tested it. It didn't work and recipents were able to see who else got it and their responses. Please advise. Theresa Garrison18KViews0likes8ComentariosUnable to download group MMS
I have a Pixel XL that was originally Project Fi. I switched to TMobile two weeks ago and my group MMS are not downloading, either on wifi or mobile. Sometimes they come through, other times I have to go to the individual messages and download them. 90% of the time, they fail to download. I've done all the troubleshooting, including resetting the network and creating the new APN from this forum. My husband has the same phone and same network and is not having this issue. The message app also crashes after a few tries at downloading. Google support was not helpful, telling me I can't use wifi for MMS, which is incorrect because I've always used wifi. Plus, it's also happening on data. Below is the APN I have done according to TMobile support doc. Although, my phone does not have a "MMS protocol" option. This helped my phone to be able to receive them more frequently, although, I still have to download them. Android APN settings Open the Access Point Names or APNs menu. In Settings, look under Wireless & Networks or tap the Connections tab. Touch Mobile network. You may need to touch More settings, More..., or More networks first. Touch Access Point Names. Touch the T-Mobile APN if one is available. If not, press the Menu key and touch new APN. Verifica y actualiza las siguientes configuraciones para el APN de datos. Name: T-Mobile APN: Fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices) or epc.tmobile.com (for non-LTE devices) Proxy: <Not set> Port: <Not set> Username: <Not set> Password: <Not set> Server: <Not set> MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc MMS proxy: <Not set> MMS port: <Not set> MMS protocol: WAP 2.0 MCC: 310 MNC: 260 Authentication Type: <Not set> APN Type: default, supl, mms OR Internet+MMS Default Android provides a text field to enter: default, supl, mms. Samsung ofrece un botón de radio Internet+MSM para seleccionar. APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6 APN roaming protocol: IPv4 Turn APN on/off: Grayed out unless there are multiple APNs Bearer: Unspecified Press the Menu key. Touch Save. Delete any other APNs that appear in the list. El APN FOTA puede quedar si está disponible. Presiona el APN que hay que eliminar. Press the Menu key. Touch Delete APN. Solved17KViews0likes19ComentariosGroup messaging not going through.
As of Friday 5/31/24 my Samsung s24 Ultra stopped working for group chats. I tried it all: Restart, removed sim card thenrestart, messed with the mms is the Samsung messaging app, turned off and on the rcs in the google messaging app, cleared the data and the cache on both as well, even factory reset the phone. I can text individuals, I receive the group texts but my responses aren't going through. if i turn off the group messaging then reply it goes through but then everyone in the group text gets my response individually. I've had this phone since it came out in January and this has never happened. Has anyone else run into this issue? The only thing I've done differently is the recent days in added the WhatsApp cause mywife is currently overseas in France. Could it have messed with my settings? I have deleted it already. ____________________________________________________________________________ SOLVED: I've done this too but the T-Mobile tech had me do it again over the phone with him. Go to settings Tap General Management Tap Reset Tap Reset Mobile Network Settings Tap Reset Settings Confirm Pin Tap RESET (phone will disconnect) This worked for me. I am able to text in group chat again. I hope this helps!Solved3KViews0likes8ComentariosGroup MMS glitch
So this is an extremely odd occurrence but yesterday my Dad(galaxy j7)sent a group text to my wife(galaxy s10) and I(galaxy s10) wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Well when my wife responded the group message disappeared and it only showed as a conversation between myself and her. Now the weird part is after that anytime I text my wife or she texts me my Dad receives the message as well.We have disabled group messaging, cleared the message app cache, reset app preferences, and deleted each other as contacts. I've exhausted hours with tech support from Samsung and T-Mobile to no avail. We still are not saved as contacts in each others phones and deleted all messages between us yet still when I text my wife or she texts me somehow my dad receives it as well. All three of us have T-Mobile for a carrier but 2 different plans. I am hoping something similar has happened to someone else and can help us out.1.9KViews1like3ComentariosWhy does group Texting with non-apple devices not work
Can't get group texting to working with T-mobile and apple phone when there is a non-apple phone person in the group text. This is really frustrating and while I really like T-Mobile's clear billing, pricing, etc (actually been very satisfied with most other aspects), I am looking at going back to ATT or a low cost carrier as this lack of group texting functionality is quite frustrating. I talked with tech support, created a ticket, etc back in February 2023, they still haven't been able to resolve the issue. Not willing to call again and burn 1-2 hours trying to trouble shoot the issue anymore.799Visto0likes5ComentariosGROUP TEXT ARE NOT WORKING, NOR TEXTING TO CERTAIN CARRIERS
I have reset all the network settings, done all the troubleshootingbut it's still not working. It seems there is no group texting at all, andthe only people who can get my text are Tmobile or ATT carriers. My daughter is sitting next to me and has Verizon, and no texts are going through to her. Also I can see the group text and everything they are saying, but no one is receiving mine! I chatted with Samsung customer service for 45 mins. This is def a T-Mobile issue. HELP!!Solved500Visto1like8ComentariosSyncUP kids watch group text
Is there a way to set up a group text on the SyncUP kids watch? I tried setting up a group chat for me, my son & his dad and he's getting the messages, but they didn't start their own conversation. Instead, they are going to our individual text threads which makes the conversation very confusing. Please help! Thank you!499Visto0likes2ComentariosMessaging failure to non TMobile carrier users.
Hello. My sister, on Verizon, has been having issue's for the past month with her messaging app through her phone as it relates to T-Mobile users. She recently switched to Verizon and set her family up with 4 new iPhone's. Specifically, the problem is twofold: 1. 1-on-1 text messages: Whenever I (TMobile user) of other TMobile users send her a text message fromour phone, she may or may not get the 1st reply, but will never see any response after that. We see her replies throughout. 2. Group MMS messages: Whenever me or another TMobile user is on a group MMS chat that includes my sister, the TMobile users can see and reply tothe group chat normally, as can opthers on the chat. My sisters' phone's she has on Verizon does not see anything from either of the TMobile users in the group chat.. She has worked for literally hours with Verizon engineers trying to fix this to no avail. Verizon would like TMobile to check my connection to the network and see if they are seeing any issue with my ability to properly send either individual or group text messages. I did not originally think this to be an issue on my end but several other times over the past few months I have sent individuals text messages that were never received to other people outside of my family. There also seems to be a delay in response from when I send the text message to when my phone shows it as sent; this delay could be up to 30 seconds or so, where normally it would be almost immediate.302Visto0likes1ComentarioIphone XR not receiving group texts when on WiFi, after switching from AT&T
Hi all. Posting to help others after spending weeks debugging this problem. I recently ported my parents' iPhones from AT&T to T-mobile Connect. My mom's phone worked fine. My dad's phone mysteriously stopped receiving our family group text messages. Further testing revealed the problem only occurred when the phone was connected to WiFi. And specifically, only when my sister or her husband (Android users on AT&T) were included in the group message, either as senders or recipients. I went through exhaustive testing with T-mobile tech support (many times with many agents), checking all the settings, etc. and even brought the phone back to factory settings at the Apple Store genius bar. No luck. Went to a T-mobile store and replaced the sim card. Still no luck. I then spent a long, dark night of the soul pouring through forums when I came across a couple of tidbits in forums for other carriers. After playing with the following two settings, a miracle occurred and the phone finally works after weeks of frustration. 1). Log into the T-mobile site, click "My T-mobile" at the top, choose "My Profile" and toggle all of the Blocking Controls and Family Controls, on and off again, waiting a few minutes with them on before leaving them all turned off. (I did this a few times.). 2). On the iPhone, go to Settings->Cellular and turn off "Wi-Fi Assist." It's waaaay near the bottom - scroll down below the giant list of apps. (Note that on my own Iphone, that setting is found in Settings->Mobile Data) Reboot. I can't say which of the above solved the problem or if the universe finally took pity on me. But the problem seems to have disappeared. Here is one last thing to try. When a phone is ported from one carrier to another, apparently it's possible for the profile to not be completely released from the former carrier. I called AT&T last night and the agent was confident based on my description that the profile was not properly released. That turned out to not be the case, but it's something to try. Also, that agent gets credited for the "Wi-Fi Assist" suggestion above. (Thanks!) Good luck!235Visto2likes1ComentarioS24 Ultra issues and problems
I bought the S24 Ultra Friday and here it is Saturday, and this is the absolutely worst phone experience I've ever had my entire Iife. Setting this up to my preferences is incredibly difficult and I keep getting notifications for apps and magazines I DO NOT WANT and there doesn't appear to be a way to stop those annoyances. I'll be returning it Monday expecting full refund $1300 plus tax and set up fees, canceling My TMobilesubscription (22 year subscriber) and moving on permanently. What a waste of my time.110Visto0likes1Comentario
